Second best line for cruising with children?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering the same thing for my grandchildren ages 3 - 10  I have been on Royal, Carnival, NCL, and Princess.  Well, Princess is out right off the bat.  Royal was great for my teens but didn't see much for the younger set.  At that time they had the shrek stuff so but is that gone?  NCL, just kids club right?  and Carnival had the Cat in the Hat.   I am struggling too to find out a line.

We're taking the plunge and giving Princess a try in Alaska. My kids (8 year-old twin girls) are excited about the age-specific kids clubs and the pool that can be glassed in to make it usable at cooler temperatures.  I just can't wait to be out at sea again.

We sail on the Star Princess out of Seattle at the end of May. Can't wait.

Our children and now our grandchildren loved Princess more than other lines ... especially at that age.

Look forward to having a wonderful cruise!  :classic_cool:

Royal next Carnival. Both have great things for the younger ones. Including many more things to do for the grown ups and at half the price or less. As mentioned Royals Oasis class ships have just as many crew members in costumes to entertain the little ones. A carousel, ice skating and so much more.

Branch out. Personally, we don’t think Disney is the best line for kids, and the wife and I are Disney fanatics. Granted, our Disney Cruise was just after Disney entered the cruise industry, but our kids, both boys, were much happier on the RCCL and NCL cruises.

DCL has changed immensely in the 20 years since it entered the cruise industry. The kids areas are larger, the programming better. I don't think you can fairly compare what it was like then to what it has become today.
