"LIVE" from Anthem of the Seas - Canada / NE - June 26, 2017

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the pictures, Radio. Peggy's Covelooks beautiful.

Beautiful, but dangerous. When we sailed there in Sept. '16, it was a bit cloudy and windy and could see how dangerous a place it can be during a storm. There's a sign to "watch out for rogue waves". Also, visitors sometimes get too close to the water and many times are washed in/out.

It was a wonderful tour (via RCL) which included the visit to the cemetery where some 120+ souls of the Titanic are buried. Many have never been identified.

Hello everyone . . . Good Morningand Welcome to DAY 5 of “LIVE” from Anthem of the Seas. I woke up again at Radio Dark30 this morning and there wasn’t much open (as was suspected) so I made my way up to the CL for a morning refreshment of Lavazza Coffee. . .

All clocks have been moved back as directed, and today will be filled with many activities. I am sure the pool decks will be crowded, as well as Casino Royale and shops. I may be going to the “Secrets to a Flatter Stomach” class as I could use a few secrets to solve this. I do have a Bridge Tour scheduled for today, but I passed on the Galley Tour.

I do plan on spending a little time on the FlowRider, lounging for a bit up in the Solarium as I find that area to be the most relaxing place on Anthem of the Seas. I has dinner lat night in Silk which was very nice. The regular menu included Lobster tails and I was surprised as I thought that was only served for Formal Night which was Tuesday. The lobster was good, but my Lobster Roll in Bar Harbor was much, much better.(i;m sure it was much fresher) Oh yes, and I can't forget to go down the Casino Royale for some afternoon entertainment.

It looks like today will be full of sun and mild temps as we head back to Cape Liberty in Bayonne. Here are a few pics from this morning. ..Thanks for tuning in.

When we sailed the 9 niter on the Anthem in Aug./Sept., we were under DD concept and got the lobster whenever we rotated to the Grande restaurant. A pleasant surprise awaited us when we left Bar Harbor, whole lobster tails were on the menu. Seems that RCL invested some $40k to purchase these delicacies. Also, on the menu for lunch the next day was a combo roll of lobster & shrimp. It was delicious and would give the lobster roll that we ate in Kennebunkport a run for it's money.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Beautiful picture and such a quaint little fishing village. Did you have a chance to see the rock carving. I can't wait to go back there. I love Peggy's Cove

Can you advise where you had your lobster roll in Bar Harbour about? Just planning my Anthem trip for September and my DH is a huge lobster fan so trying to make sure he gets to enjoy the best whilst we are on shore.

Thanks

Hello everyone . . . Today was a very busy day while I tried to do things that I haven’t done and enjoy my last day on this beautiful ship. I was able to do the Bumper Cars, Indoor Pool, my Bridge Tour and spent some time in the Solarium. I was also able to watch a little news and visit Casino Royale. I was also able to complete a little last minute shopping.

I am sure everyone knows why this day is considered the worst day of the cruise. When you have so much fun, and then it is time to put it all away while trying to get back to everyday life. It was very fun, and I had a great time. I really prefer to go on a 7-10 night cruise, but by vacation plans called for a 5 night. Anthem of the Seas is really a delightful ship and I was happy with all of the dining, service, and entertainment.

Thanks for all of the nice comments, and Thanks for tuning in . . .

Radio, Thks for you live review, I use a scooter to get around a cruise ship. We have been looking into the larger RC ships, do you find the ships crowded, and hard to get around. We were just on the Celebrity Reflection, and had no problems.

I have seen many scooters and wheelchairs, and it shouldn't be a problem.

I have been on the Solstice Class ships by Celebrity and the passageways seem to be similar.

So happy to find a Radio cruise on which to tag along. I'm all caught up!

Forty-five years ago this very week (only 3 days; we were young and broke), we spent our honeymoon in Bar Harbor (at the Bar Harbor Motor Inn--cheap motel room part). I'm glad to see it again, as we have not been back. Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain are gorgeous. Well worth the trip.

Peggy's Cove looks great. That trip is definitely on our bucket list. Would like be able to do the 5-day Bermuda, then the 9-day NE/Canada as a b2b.

Hello everyone. . . Good morning and Welcome to DAY 6 of “LIVE”from Anthem of the Seas. We picked up the Pilot this morning by around 6AM and arrived at Cape Liberty around 6:45AM. The first Self Debarkation passengers are scheduled to leave by 7:30AM.

I should be getting off of the Ship by around 9. I still have to grab a danish (or two) and maybe a cup of freshly brewed coffee. I cashed out my Casino Royale tickets last night after a little bit of play. The Casino was packed last night, as were the Shops and bars.

When I get home, I still have many things to scan, andimages to post. I have dozens of video clips, and Time Lapse images to edit aswell. I will try to get many of these posted, but many images may end up on the Radio Pressroom cutting room floor.

Thanks for all of the nice comments, and I will re read my posts and try to answer any questions I have missed. My Stateroom was on Deck 11(Starboard) Cat D-1 (11648) It was a very nice cabin, and very close to the elevator (MID).

Here are a few pics from our arrival. . .

I just came up with a question for you. The indoor pool looks very appealing as we often cruise in the fall from New York. I can't figure out from the deck plans, are the indoor pool and the main pool the same thing only it has a retractable roof? If separate, where is the indoor pool located so I can make sense of it on the deck plan? Thanks for your help.
