Katng0826 Posted June 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I booked 6 tickets for 2 cabins through a third party company, I called and asked if they were able to transfer the OBC from one cabin to another since my husband and I well be paying for our group of friend as a thank you gift for helping us with our wedding. Each cabin is alloted $50 OBC. The TA that helped me said that carnival won't allow transferring promotional OBC. Does anyone know if this is true or should I try to call carnival and see if they can or well they have me talk to my TA?
Drazil65 Posted June 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2017 If you booked through the TA then you need to work through the TA as Carnival will only deal with them at this time. I guess you could call as an anonymous caller with a hypothetical question regarding the situation you are inquiring about. Tell them you are thinking about booking and was wondering??? Might get you some answers.
deborahjo Posted June 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2017 OBC goes by cabin not by who pays for it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
jenanderic Posted June 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I tried the same thing with my PVP and they said it goes by cabin. We have 3 rooms and 2 of those rooms have kids. I didn't want them wasting our OBC. I couldn't get them switched either. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
teknoge3k Posted June 28, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2017 As someone else mentioned, if you work with a travel agent/ third party then Carnival cannot help you.

We put everyone on the same credit card and then placed a limit on kids S&S card.. Guests service was happy to assist us with this. Kids got a total of $140 for the 7 day cruise to cover soft drinks from the bars, gift shops purchases and arcade. For other things like Dr. Seuss breakfast or drinks with dinner we presented our S&S card. This helped the kids learn budgeting and kept us from any surprises. It's a Ship!!! Posted June 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I booked 6 tickets for 2 cabins through a third party company, I called and asked if they were able to transfer the OBC from one cabin to another since my husband and I well be paying for our group of friend as a thank you gift for helping us with our wedding. Most OBC is non-transferable and I believe it will say that somewhere in the fine print of your guest confirmation.
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2017 On another line I was able to go to Guest Services and transfer some of my OBC to my sister (same cabin). I suspect you can do the same on Carnival. EM
cb at sea Posted June 28, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 28, 2017 For the OP, no, you won't be able to transfer their credit. For families who get credit for the kid's cabins, if you are ALL on one form of payment, which is usually the case for families, it all goes to the credit card on file...so you'll have use of the kid's rooms credit....use it for the gratuity, or part of it! brooklynfc Posted June 28, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I'm not stating fact, but asking the possibility as solution. Could the OP go to the casino first thing and plug in for the amount of the OBC and then cash out?
SadieN Posted June 28, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 28, 2017 I'm not stating fact, but asking the possibility as solution. Could the OP go to the casino first thing and plug in for the amount of the OBC and then cash out? No How can s/he access the other cabin's account? OBC is divided between the first two in the cabin. Could ask for it back from your friends. (though I think that would be tacky to do) It's not money you gave them, it was part of the booking. Be magnanimous, let them enjoy the $50. It'll pay two days of their gratuities.
bnorris10 Posted June 30, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 30, 2017 If you want your OBC from the other rooms just tell those people that are going to be in that room to either A give you cash for the amount of OBC they are getting or B tell them ahead of time and have them buy you some drinks or as somone else mentioned go to casino to get it back in cash

You will have to either let them have it, go to guest services once onboard all of you guys, and transfer it to your s&s account one at a time, or have them give you the cash for it. If you booked through a TA, then the TA should have told you this, which they did. But even if you booked directly, the rules would be the same.
