stroh33 Posted June 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2017 What happens if I don't put Royals Crappy Paper luggage tags on my suitcases at home and show up at the port "untagged"? Do the porters have better tags? (I'm referring to Port Everglades- Harmony) thanks Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

GTO-Girl Posted June 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Which is why I purchased the heavy duty plastic luggage tag holders with the metal rings. No more folding and stapling!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums I just cut the outline of the tag out and fold that in half to slide in the holder. That way the information is visible from both side of the tag. Ordered mine from Amazon...love them!!
Milwaukee Eight Posted June 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I cut them out and fold once. Yes, but still requires the one fold. I will start cutting them out from now on. Already folded and installed in our clear plastic and wire holders for our cruise tomorrow. I thought it was a test by Royal to see if we can follow simple instructions as the tags when printed on paper have several fold here lines. Rare island lady Posted June 29, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I cut them out and fold once. Me too. They are then the size of the disembarkation tags. Weird how they make them different sizes. My poor sister was adamant that she had to fold that huge sheet of paper. She made such a mess, the porters had to replace her tags with theirs. I bought her the plastic reusable sleeves for her tags for Christmas. ;)

Folded properly, they fit fine in plastic tags that have been listed on this site but cutting out instead is probably a better way. I don't see how making one fold in a 1-2" wide piece of paper can be difficult.
Milwaukee Eight Posted June 29, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I don't see how making one fold in a 1-2" wide piece of paper can be difficult. It's not. From now on I will cut my tags out of a single sheet of paper and then make the one fold. Having said that, folding the entire sheet using the printed fold me here lines is not difficult at all. Call this the five fold method. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ray98 Posted June 29, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I also agree....I have folded and even stapled many luggage tags and not once have I ever thought 'man this is difficult'. Also, not one has ever been damaged or lost.
USNUZULOOSE Posted June 29, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I like printing them and putting the clear packing tape on them. And carry a little stapler and put them on before handing over the suit case. But that is just me.

UFMOM Posted June 29, 2017 #19 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I use the clear packing tape method and several staples and it makes them quite sturdy. I also put 2 tags on each suitcase. One one the upper handle and one on the side handle. If I'm flying in the night before and not driving, I pack my prepared tags and a small stapler so I can replace the flight tags with cruise ones the morning of the cruise. UFMOM Posted June 29, 2017 #21 Share Posted June 29, 2017 I do all the folds! Want to make that paper as thick as possible and completely cover it with packing tape, front and back. :D I have a bugaboo about luggage tags and not receiving my luggage. Hence the extra tags on each case. I even put them on my carry ons in case they somehow get separated from me. I can never fully relax and truly start my cruise until I see all my cases at my cabin door! Mary Ann

actuarian Posted June 29, 2017 #23 Share Posted June 29, 2017 Do other cruise lines have non-crappy luggage tags? Sent from my iPad using Forums Disney still mails out the old fashioned type of luggage tags, the self-stick kind that you just loop around the suitcase handle and seal. They also still mail out hard copy cruise documents.

Mary Ann I stopped putting them on my carry on when we were the last to get off a shuttle and the porters had already grabbed everything with a luggage tag on it and put it in the bin. Had to get them to fish mine out from under a couple of suitcases. So when we take a hotel shuttle I know anything without a luggage tag is going to be unloaded and sit there until you get off to claim it.
