Question about South American Cruises

Not sure where to ask this, we've only cruised on Carnival. We have family that wants to cruise to South America. I'm not sure if Carnival does this. Does any one know? If they don't can anyone recommend a cruise line that does? Thanks for the help and please move if this needs to be some where else.

NCL and Celebrity both have Panama Canal and South America cruises. Here's a sample of 1 cruise I've been looking at:

Day Port of Call Arrival Departure

0 Miami 4:00 PM

1 At Sea

2 At Sea

3 Santa Marta Colombia 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

4 Cartagena Colombia 7:00 AM 2:00 PM

5 Transit the Panama Canal

6 At Sea

7 Manta 8:00 AM 7:00 PM

8 At Sea

9 Salaverry (Trujillo) 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

10 Callao (Lima) 9:00 AM 7:00 PM

11 At Sea

12 Arica 8:00 AM 1:00 PM

13 At Sea

14 Coquimbo 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

15 Valparaiso 8:00 AM

There's a whole world of cruising outside of Carnival's realm.

Which cruise line is this one?

Take a look at Princess. A few years ago I did a 32 day itinerary from Fort Lauderdale, thru the Caribbean (with stops in several ports), visited numerous ports as we cruised down the east side of SA, around Cape Horn, up the west side of SA, disembarked in Valpariso, Chile, and flew back to the US from Santiago, Chile. It was a fabulous cruise!!

Suggest they get a good cruise knowledgeable travel agent since some SA ports require a visa.

I would look at a 14-16 day itinerary leaving Valparaiso and ending in Buenos Aires (or the reverse) that includes the Falkland Islands. What ports are you interested in visiting?
