kenholt Posted July 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Hello , i am sailing on the AOS out of PR, flying from Buffalo NY. I would like to hear about anyone experience frying with a case of water or pop/soda to take aboard the ship.
Biker19 Posted July 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2017 While it is difficult to fry with water, you'll probably be OK to bring on the ship if you place it in your checked luggage.

Even if you fly in the same day, you can ask the taxi driver to stop at a store on the way to the port.
Cigar King Posted July 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Agreed...stop some place on the way and pick up what you want. They *may* allow you to board. I think it's more likely with water than soda. If they do care, you're not out much anyway.
realtorclm Posted July 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2017 We have stopped on the way to AOS in PR and not had a problem. I bring a cruise ship luggage tag and a roll of tape to attach to the case. Then send it with my checked bags when we board. cb at sea Posted July 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2017 You will NOT want to pay luggage charges for stuff you can easily get there!!!! The ship's water is perfectly fine...same stuff that's in the bottles!
LeeW Posted July 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2017 If you are staying in Isla Verde area (near the airport) the Pueblo market is half a block from Embassy Suites.
ColoradoGurl Posted July 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2017 I know a guy who refuses to drink anything but Eldorado brand water, which I don't think can be bought outside the state of Colorado because it comes from a spring here in our mountains. He checks an entire case of 24 half liter bottles in a suitcase and takes it with him wherever he goes. If you fly southwest you get 2 free bags. And if you have status with other airlines they generally also give you free baggage. It doesn't weight 50 pounds so it's doable. It works great for boiling, steaming and poaching though. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
seabeew Posted July 12, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2017 Unless something has changed in the past three months, you can buy water and soda along with wine in the terminal at the cruise port. Sent from my iPad using Forums
payitforward Posted July 12, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 12, 2017 I agree with the previous posters. Just buy it when you get to San Juan.

True, we buy water all the time in the San Juan terminal. We board, have lunch, drop our bags in our stateroom, and then get off the ship briefly to buy water
