suella17 Posted July 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Hi everyone Ship is due to get into Venice at 6.30am. our flight is at 11.55am. we have an outside cabin. So, as it's out first cruise, would you know is there a way we can get off, carrying our own cases, early enough ? Can we go to guest services and ask for an early number ? Is that how it works ? I know higher cabin levels have priority but was hoping they have some system for people catching flights. (We couldn't stay an extra night in Venice as we have to be back to work the next day :() Thanks
Alakegirl Posted July 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2017 If you are carrying your own luggage you dont get a baggage tag number at all, you just line up with the other self-disembarkers and go once the ship has been cleared by the local authorities. If you want to be first in line, go early.
TeaBag Posted July 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2017 You don't need a number for self disembarkaiton. You simply take all your luggage (no assistance provided) and head for the disembarkation area. People tend to line up there early and as soon as you are given the go ahead to leave, you can. Enjoy your cruise and may it be the first of many!

jelayne Posted July 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2017 We had a flight at 11:00 we requested a luggage tag # for 7:30. Any were off the ship on the way to the airport by 8:15. We had booked a car to take us to the airport so no waiting for a taxi.
bigbenboys Posted July 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2017 I've seen the line. You will have to get down there early.
alcpa1 Posted July 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2017 Please pay heed to the point that you will have to maintain control of your luggage from your cabin (regardless of location) to the pier. That could mean lugging it down stairways and over the gangway which is grated. If you are fortunate enough to find an empty elevator grab it. Not all elevators go to deck 2 which should be your disembarkation deck. Notices will be provided for your gathering self disembarkation station. Unless you are an hour early it will be crowded. You can google any number of threads with additional information about the process. If you are an active participant in your Roll Call you will probably find others who wish to share transportation to the airport. Have a great cruise. easyboy Posted July 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2017 If you plan to self disembark and take a private transport, not a shared shuttle that you have to wait for other passengers, your flight time is doable if ship arrival is not delayed.
