Rare lyndarra Posted July 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2017 We use one we got from Aldi, never had a problem on many cruises. It comes with swappable international plugs (UK, Europe, US, Asia) as well as an Oz plug.. It has two outlets for Oz plugs and four USB charge ports. I saw them on sale at Aldi last week. rkmw Posted July 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2017 i copied this from one of the roll calls Electrical devices such as small fans, power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors, and extension cords without surge protectors are allowed onboard when used with proper caution. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark
Elorac123 Posted July 17, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted July 17, 2017 Thank you all for your comments, don't know why HAL considered my powerboard unsuitable but many people had them confiscated Cheers
Aus Traveller Posted August 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Powerboards with surge protection are a fire hazard and can be confiscated. If you take a non-surge-protected board, or a double adaptor, you should be OK.

Kiwi_cruiser Posted August 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 3, 2017 We have been on the Sun Princess a few time now (and going back on at Christmas time) and we have taken a power board on, with no problems :)
Aus Traveller Posted August 4, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 4, 2017 People who have taken power-boards onto ships in the past should not assume they will be able to do so on future cruises. From what I have seen, security is cracking down on surge-protected power-boards because of the fire hazard.
