Fastfreddy03 Posted July 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Hi, we are going on our first cruise, on the Norwegian Escape . From miami for 7 nights. We are going to las vegas for 7 nights before thus cruise. We are just wanting to know if there are laundry facilities on the ship? For us to do our own washing. Cost for this or cost for laundry Services on board would be appreciated. Thanks
Rare www3traveler Posted July 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2017 No self-serve laundry on any Norwegian ship. Sometime during the cruise there will be a "Fill The Bag" laundry special. Everything in the bag will be done for ONE set price.

On other days, you can do laundry by the piece.
Fastfreddy03 Posted July 23, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted July 23, 2017 Thanks for replies. Just trying to imagine how big these laundry bags are. We are a family of mum dad and two teenage daughters. We are going to moving around a fair bit before we get to cruise. 2 nights vegas , 1 night grand canyon, 3 nights vegas, 2 nights key west, 1 night miami. Just trying to work out when and where to do our laundry.
lisamacaroni Posted July 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2017 The laundry bags are not as large as a plastic grocery bag. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

Rare All-ready2cruise Posted July 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2017 I agree, that would be my choice as well. When we did a 6 week road trip we did our laundry prior to the cruise... it worked out very well for just the 2 of us. While they offer the special $19.99 bag mid week it probably won't work well for a group of four. The alternative would be to pack a cruise bag separate from the other travel bags. This works well for NCL since you don't need any formal ware and can get away with shorts and nice tops in many of the restaurants... the main places that dress code may be adherred to do require long pants and collared shirts for men (resort casual) we women are :halo: special and get away with nice tops and capri pants... . Hope you have a great cruise. Cheers, Connie

Don't forget to do an itemized count for the laundry slip - you can do a lot. Ask your friendly Room Steward for a clean pillow case as an inner liner - no need to worry about the paper bag bursting when stuffed full, etc. - also, as a heads-up to pickup your laundry early in the day to send it down below deck for wash-n-dry and fold. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wt3pw2rqgscty94/IMG1504171326NCL-LB.jpg?dl=

libtrek Posted October 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Is the laundry service done in hot washers and dryers? New to NCL, but on Carnival you would only want to send “sturdy” items of clothing.
Rare BirdTravels Posted October 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Cold water using detergent only. If there is special handling instructions, they will Follow them. Dryers are hot. We send all types of clothes with no problems. Similar to escape (the Escape actually uses an automated 10-stage/compartment, 2-story washer for things like napkins). Rare cml4958 Posted October 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I would suggest either in Miami before boarding or two separate sets of luggage. If your hotel in Miami doesn't have laundry facilities, see if there's a laundromat nearby that might offer drop off service.

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot Posted October 15, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I'd do it either in Vegas or Miami....most hotels have some type of laundry service.
nilesmom22 Posted October 15, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 15, 2017 There seems to be laundry service in Las Vegas. One click cleaners seems like they will pick up at your hotel and do a wash and fold.
Rare mking8288 Posted October 15, 2017 #16 Share Posted October 15, 2017 There are a # of good self-service laundromat off the Vegas strip if you wish to plan ahead - and have a rental car. They aren't expensive and this one has dropoff service (in the AM) and will be done by the PM ... in the Paradise neighborhood, west of Strip & off I-15, 15 minutes from popular hotels nearby ... typically, in one of the strip malls by Spring Mountain Road, that's also where the local Chinatown is located, unknown to most tourists/visitors who never go off in search of a different dining experience. 24 Hour Laundromat Twain - just "Google" it & call them. Others have extended hours but not 24/7.

Paper bag is thin and it has tore on me in the past! Thanks!
Chris J. Posted October 19, 2017 #18 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Throw everything out, and just buy all new at the mall in Miami before the cruise.
Bootman4U Posted October 19, 2017 #19 Share Posted October 19, 2017 A simple kitchen garbage bag will act as a liner for that paper bag also.
