Casino losses?

Seem to only hear from "winners" in the Casino, but I suspect they wouldn't give free cruises via the Blue Chip Club if they wouldn't expect a return in excess of the cruise cost. Okay Blue Chip members, or others, fess up and tell us how much you've lost.

Not sure if anyone is going to bite on this thread, lol. But I did want to say that being a part of ALL the mainstream cruise line casino programs (actually my husband is the gambler, but he doesn't participate on CC so I'm speaking on his behalf ) I would have to say Carnival hands down had the best casino at Sea program. Princess is terrible, and NCL's program is much harder to warn points Plus their comped cruise offers include administrative fees that no other cruise line adds on, making it more expensive!

Orator I am intrigued by your provocative question. I am a heavy gambler and I am very satisfied with the new revamped Blue Chip program and rewards. Before the new program the "comps" were somewhat subjective. Now with the 5 tiers it is easier to access where you stand. OK to answer your question. I have won thousands on some cruises and lost thousands on others. 99% of all gamblers have the realization that the house will have the advantage but it is a form of entertainment or relaxation in the case of slots. AND I never get a painful sunburn and my wife always knows where to find me. Cheers

Confession is good for the soul and it can help others avoid being lured into something that could be a potential mistake. Many posters make these programs seem like cruise lines are giving away cabins to people who only win. I personally know people who have lost a great more than the were prepared to lose. I occasionally play in the Casino, but not frequently. I don't oppose gambling, but I believe that people should know the risks before they get too far in the game.

We lost two bucks once..........We winter in Las Vegas because it lets us see our grandchildren, not to visit a casino....

For years I thought I was the man who built Vegas, Because everyone I ever spoke to claimed to leave Vegas Up or about even. I always seemed to be down! :-)

True be known if everyone lost as much as we do in a Casino the city would go bankrupt very quickly.

I usually budget ~$100/day for gambling, and mark it off as an expense as it usually is, but do enjoy it just like some enjoy the shows or the spa.

Luckily I think I'm about 40% / 60%. I think about 40% of the time I come home with more than I started with at the casino, 60% of the time less. It helps that I haven't drank in 20 years, as I still remember the days of using Vegas drinking logic of "well I lost $500, problem is I've been betting too little" .

One of my favorite voyages though I was playing roulette on the last night of a cruise. I think I was down about $500-600 for the cruise. A guy stood next to me curious about the game, so I explained the nuances of betting to him since he never bet before.

He bought $50 worth of chips and it was soon about $400. It was getting late and the casino was to close in an hour or two, so he suggested we both bet the number 36, which we did. I had bet $5, he bet $10, it wins, so I received $175 and he received $350. Well wouldn't you know it 36 came in 4 more times, and we both bet it in increasing amounts. I walked away with about $2500, he ended up with about $8000.

The Australian lady that was running table told me "See Mr Tolliver, it doesn't matter what happens all the other days, all that matters is what you leave the ship with, and you both can walk away right now with your bounty"

AND WE DID
