Merly Posted August 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2017 We are sailing from Southampton in a couple of weeks and using ABP parking. The only time we have parked at Southampton is when we sailed with Cunard. Then, we drove up to the terminal and our cases were taken from the boot and the car taken and parked for us. When we returned it was a short walk to our car. Is this what happens with ABP or do you park it yourself and then walk to the terminal? Thank you. orla56 Posted August 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2017 First time we dropped cases first.Second time we parked first and the guy told us to leave our cases at the car which we weren't sure about. We were still thinking about this when the porter came over and took our cases.Very easy. sddsddean Posted August 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Used them several times. The latest version (when we went in September) is park the car, guys will come and get your luggage and put it in a Luton van for transfer to ship, you walk 5 mins to the terminal. Car Park is right beside the ship and the luggage was in our room before we were!!...and we got to the cabin at 1pm. Simon

TinaSwizzle Posted January 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 1, 2018 As a complete newbie to cruising, planning our first time, is ABP generally the preferred parking provider for Southampton or are there any other recommendations? TIA x
Rare little britain Posted January 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2018 As a complete newbie to cruising, planning our first time, is ABP generally the preferred parking provider for Southampton or are there any other recommendations? TIA x AB Parking are right by the cruise terminal....you could throw your cases onto the ship. Park your own car and keep your keys. They come and collect the luggage from your car. Very easy when you disembark too. Walk to the car and drive off! Watch out for discount codes that will give you 10% off. Merly Posted January 1, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted January 1, 2018 Another vote for ABP. We had the same experience with Cunard but when sailed Royal, parked, handed luggage over and a very short walk to the terminal. When it’s time to go home it makes for a very quick getaway if you can be amongst the first of the ship.

sddsddean Posted January 2, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 2, 2018 If you have already booked, check with your TA to see if you can get free parking. We usually do (unless we book really late), but you might have to ask at time of booking...worth a phone call though. Simon
