Rare Scrapnana Posted August 21, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted August 21, 2017 (edited) OFF- topic** Puppies video on Denali fb page, names to be announced Monday. They are so cute! One of the best excursions I've done was into the Yukon from Skagway. At Caribou Crossing they had two week old sled dog puppies that we could hold. Edited August 21, 2017 by Scrapnana

Rare rafinmd Posted August 21, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 21, 2017 Back onboard and confirmed I can NOT get the webcams on the ship's internet. I did call up marine traffic and it appeared to be St. Nicholas meeting Nieuw Amsterdam today. Roy

Happily@Sea Posted August 21, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 21, 2017 Now that the eclipse is over, I can concentrate on dam ships. I was in Florida when the one went over Perry in Mar 1970 - about 90 miles away as the crow flies. It was overcast, we were out of totality and I was not impressed. This viewing - electronically was much better. :D and cheaper than travelling. AIS is behind again - Eurodam should be almost to Thane.

Saw the partial from my front porch with special glasses - pretty cool to see - Looked like a "Halve Maen" (Half Moon)
Happily@Sea Posted August 21, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 21, 2017 Saw the partial from my front porch with special glasses - pretty cool to see - Looked like a "Halve Maen" (Half Moon) But not the sailing ship - that really would have been interesting. Rare Scrapnana Posted August 21, 2017 Author #17 Share Posted August 21, 2017 The eclipse was a total dud near me. About 15 minutes before the darkest portion (we were not getting the total one) dark clouds came in and it started thundering.:(
