Madeira end of October

Hi everyone

 

We will be stopping off in Madeira on Britannia and I'm looking for something to do with our 3yr old.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Not much in Madeira for children.

 

Dolphin, glass bottom boat trip, cable car ride, toboggan. There is a new 'beach' off the prom near Porto Santo Maria, but IIRC it is grey crushed rock, not golden sand.

Madeira does have a small water park about 30 minutes from the port. Taxis are freely available.

There is a nice lido about 40 minutes walk away or 10 minutes by taxi. With swimming pool complex, water slides/sprays, play area. Free for under 5's

Madeira daytime temperatures are generally between about 20 and 25 degrees all year round. We've been at Christmas and it was 26 on Christmas day.

 

It can however get very heavy rain.

 

Wasn't aware of the water park in the Lido area. We have only visited Lido once, turned around and left as it offered everything we didn't want.

The lido is only a couple of years old a lot of time and money has gone into the promenade and it is a nice area.

The Aqua Park at Santa Cruz in Madeira is open until 2nd week of November and is 6-5 Euros for an adult and under 4 it is free. It is 16km from Funchal near the airport and is open 10am-6pm.

Take the cable car from centre of town to top of hill.

We have been to Madeira the last week in October. It rained for 3 days and the other days it was hot, so you may be lucky.
