Shiena Posted October 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2017 I'm looking at flights for my Alaskan cruise next August. We are booked on the ms Nieuw Amsterdam with Holland America. The itinerary says we will be back in Vancouver at 7Am. What is a good time to book a returning flight? We are traveling back to the US and want to make sure we have plenty of time to go through customs ect.
CruiserBruce Posted October 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2017 If you look over on the West Coast Departures board, where Vancouver is covered, you will see the common recommendation for no flights before noon.
VennDiagram Posted October 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2017 Do you get a direct flight, or do you connect someplace? If you connect, where does that happen?
xlxo Posted October 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 4, 2017 You want a flight no earlier than 12pm. 7am docking 7:30 am first walk-offs 8:20 am should have you in the cab as it takes about 35 minutes to get to the airport 9am arrive at airport for your 3hrs of check-in, customs and complimentary security searches (luggage, carry-ons, liquids, electronics, WMD's, NFL's, hand, body, and the random complimentary VIP secondary experience) 12pm wheels up with dreams on returning to Vancouver because you didn't budget enough time to check out your wonderful bonus port. Rare Keith1010 Posted October 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2017 I would book a flight at around 12:30 PM or after. Keith
