Rare pierces Posted October 15, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I, like many, suffer from a moderate case of acrophobia. It’s sort of selective and I can look out the window of a tall building or an airplane without a qualm. Tall ladders where a fall would likely injure me give me pause but once I get on with the task that required the ladder, I’m fine. This week, a company event gave me the opportunity to visit The Ledge which is on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower in Chicago. It turns out that standing on a glass balcony and looking 1,353 straight down between my feet will deliver a full-blown case of the heebie-jeebies to even a moderate acrophobic. If it hadn’t been an awesome photo-op, I would have skipped it. Facing Fears Dave

tommui987 Posted October 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2017 I, l. If it hadn’t been an awesome photo-op, I would have skipped it. Facing Fears Dave The TV tower in Shanghai also have glass floors - think it was only 86 stories up - great photo-op of my wife and my son. I opted not to opt! Krazy Kruizers Posted October 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Great shot But I couldn't stand out on a glass ledge and look down.
Heartgrove Posted October 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Facing Fears Dave Good for you! Now I will tell you that one of the layers of the floor of The Ledge cracked back in 2014. It will always be Sears Tower for me.

zackiedawg Posted October 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2017 I've done a glass floors- but never one that sticks out from the side of the building like that - the one in the CN Tower is pretty trippy! Some more weekend birding and wildlife shooting with the A6300 and FE100-400mm lens, with and without teleconverter - lots of life in the wetlands this fall: A red-shouldered hawk blasting by in the sky: A lovely black-throated blue warbler, sampling some red berries: A basilisk lizard up on a lookout stump in the shadowy forest: An osprey flying by with a fish for dinner: A slightly less happy osprey - caught in a complete downpour, just sitting on a branch waiting for it to end:
