jimgII Posted October 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2017 We will be sailing to Santorini, Piraeus, Mykonos, Nauplion, and Katakolon from Rome. Which would be better, Port side or Starboard side?

Rare cruisemom42 Posted October 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2017 I don't think there is any significant difference. You'll be surprised at how quickly you are out of sight of land after sailing, and your ship may face either way in port. For any really scenic events (for example, sailing out of Venice or past Mount Etna) you will have better (wider) views on deck than from a balcony. lamchops Posted November 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Where or what is Nauplion? It’s a beautiful seaside town in Greece. If able, I suggest walking the seaside promenade around the point to the base/stairs of Palamides. The 999 steps up and down was memorable achievement for all in our group. The views up there were spectacular. Nauplion was a pleasant surprise on our cruise. BTW it’s a tender port.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I always put more emphasis on where on the deck we are located. Try to get out on the open decks for the best views. Keith
