Suite Welcome Package

I've read there's a specific mailout to Suite pax.

We are 38 days out, have not received.

Is this in any way a big deal/something I should call and sort out?

I don't know what's in it.

Forum Search revealed there are special luggage tags.

I couldn't care less about those--unless I need them.

Is anything important in the package?

Thanks.

At first I thought we missed something when you board...

But - the mailing had a welcome letter and luggage tags. We did not use the tags as we only do carryon these days - even for two week cruises.

I think it also included the email address if you wanted to ask for something in advance. We are fairly low maintenance and feel it is easier to ask for anything once you board. Extra balcony chair in our case, and leave the pullout bed in 2br down is about all we asked for.

As mentioned a welcoming letter. The luggage tags do have Priority on them. Not sure what that really gets you though. Our luggage has always arrived in a timely manner regardless of what type cabin we were in. However, having preprinted tags is convenient so I don't have to print some out. Otherwise, you're not missing anything.

You can also specify your pillow preferences in advance. The only thing we usually have them arrange is our in-room liquor selection if we are in the DOS or OS.

But if you're checking luggage at the port, get your luggage tags from them. The ones mailed to you say PRIORITY. If you print your tags, they don't indicate that.

Multiple experiments on our part have shown the priority tag bags get delivered sooner.

Just to let you know a mini suite does not get the same treatment as a "suite"

Thanks.

We are also low-maintenance so I'll just give it a week and if nothing comes I'll call and have them send luggage tags.

Our luggage has always come OK in other cabins but if the special tags mean we get it sooner (and reduce the chance of lost luggage from 1% to 0.01%) it might be worth doing.

Did you book through a TA? If you did, there is a chance you letter went to them instead of you.

Ah.

Yes.

That place with the big parking lots, huge portion packaging, and annual membership fees that we cannot mention here.

Mystery solved, perhaps.

Don't wait to call. It takes awhile to send them. No problem if they don't.

If you want special pillows or your minibar empitied ahead of time email at norwegianconciergedesk@ncl.com. You can mention you didn't receive the letter and tags.

I book thru the same "big parking lot" agency as well. I always get my tags directly from NCL typically 50 days out. Is your online check in being shown as complete on the NCL website to include final payment made?

Yes it is.

It is a letter, which includes your luggage tags. You might want to call the pre-Concierge, 1-855-625-4283, and request your luggage tags and go over any requests you might have.

Some of the ANY REQUESTS might be shore excursions - dinner (Specialty Restaurant *Teppanyaki*) reservations - show seating - queen bed split into twins (King beds can not be split) other special occasions

event Birthday/Wedding/Anniversary cakes. Some of these are not handled directly thru your Concierge

but passing along a request to a Butler or Cabin Steward in advance makes things run a bit smoother.

When checking in (Registration at the cruise terminal) pay attention where you are supposed to check-in !

Guests in Suites and categories above check in separately and should be directed afterward to the Concierge

Lounge for escort by Butler on the ship. If not specifically directed look for the area where CAS (Casinos At Sea)

or Latitudes (rewards) Platinum check-in is taking place your registration check-in should be in or near that area.

The Butler escort will help you bypass lines waiting to board and get you on board to have lunch in the designated

Suite Guests restaurant or other place of your choice.

You might also check what address is listed on line. We had a party with several not in the same household, every time someone checked in, it changed ALL of our addresses!

And also definitely check this. We've had this issue as well. Now we just say that the friend who cruises with us lives with us as well.

I'm sure if the staff on board can see this information it confuses them even more. We get a lot of confused looks (married couple cruising with a friend in the second bedroom) and even some blatant questions -- "Is she your sister?" My husband will sometimes answer, "No, she's my girlfriend." :D If nothing else, it keeps us amused during the week.

Updating, we've been in touch by e-mail. Regarding the physical mailout, the lady at the NCL shoreside concierge desk writes:

"The agency that you have booked through did not sign up to receive luggage tag therefore the systems will not process it. Once you arrive at the pier your luggage will be tagged by the porter. If you choose to print them out you certainly can."

I'll be darn. Guess my TA requests them for us. But again, you're not really missing anything.
