bgoff60 Posted November 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2017 We have always gone with an outside balcony with RCCL. We are thinking about trying an inside balcony (Neighborhood) room with balcony. Either Central Park or Boardwalk is fine. Questions for Central Park: Does the view or sound change with having a higher deck floor room? Does the 'air flow' change the higher or lower you go? Question for Boardwalk: IF we wanted to catch glimpses of the Aqua Theater activities, what rooms or general locations are best? Is being closer to the bow of the ship better? Is one side better than the other (Port or starboard)
dwayneb236 Posted November 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2017 The farther back on the Boardwalk you are the easier it is to see the Aqua Theater. We were deck 8 and about midway. Not a terribly good view. Could see a bit of it but the slide kinda gets in the way a bit on the Harmony. I'm pretty sure being higher would help. If you are checking between the two, check out the extras you get, as it might help if one is better than the other for you. Boardwalk - 2 soda packages, 4 meals at Johnny Rockets, "private" rock climbing session Central Park - Bottle of wine and lunch for two at Giovannis and casino lessons. cruzeluver Posted November 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2017 We just disembarked Oasis this past Sunday and had a boardwalk balcony on deck 12 with only two rooms further aft of us. We had a pretty good view of the Aqua theater. I imagine a few decks lower would be even better. We were port side but I don't think being starboard would be any better or worse. Love the room. Very comfortable. We took full advantage of the free sodas and the complimentary lunch at Johnny Rockets.
OCruisers Posted November 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2017 Our Boardwalk the first level above Johnny Rockets. Good view of the Aqua theater and a bit of an ocean view.
katiel53 Posted November 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2017 We sailed in a Boardwalk Balcony in January and it was cabin 12325. It was near the aft and we had a great view of the Aqua Theater and the sea. It was about the 3rd cabin from the end of the hallway. My only complaint, and it isn't really a complaint, is that it was a long walk from the elevator to the cabin. We liked Central Park, but I thought the air circulation in that area was poor. I don't believe we would have been comfortable being out on the balcony with the poor air flow. We sailed again on Allure in July, but had an ocean view balcony. Walking down to Central Park for dinners and for lunch at the Park Cafe, we again noticed the difference in the air as it was considerably warmer in the Central Park area than it was at the Boardwalk end. Grandma Petania Posted September 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2018 We have sailed in a Central Park balcony cabin on Oasis, Allure, and Harmony. We have one booked on Symphony this December. We often sat on the balcony to play cards, read, and people-watch. We also tried an ocean balcony once, and an interior once. The Central Park deck 10 is our favorite, and will keep us sailing Oasis Class for the foreseeable future.

HOSKI Posted September 20, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2018 We booked 8329 on Allure to see the show for our May 2019 cruise. It is the last one back. It costs us an extra $200 compared to other boardwalk rooms.
OCruisers Posted September 21, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2018 Our Boardwalk the first level above Johnny Rockets. Good view of the Aqua theater and a bit of an ocean view. That's what we had. Yes, good view of Aqua Water Show and could see the ocean from our balcony. :)
