Alantis Excursion question

Recommended Posts

Buy it from Atlantis, we’ve done it twice, it was fun, but we were there off peak, got there at opening, on lines for slides at 10 when they opened, mapped out the property ahead of time, and didn’t buy any food, brought water that we purchased when we got off of the ship for $1.

Check into actually getting a room at the hotel.

You will have a room to relax in and I believe the entire complex is then available to you. Excursion many times limits what you will have access to. As a hotel guest one doesn't have that problem.

Cost may also be less that a booked excursion.

I guess my main question would be how long will you be there. On some cruises you arrive at 7 (water park doesn't open until 10) and must leave by 1. Not worth it IMO. Some are there until quite late. That would be worth the price.

Good and bad. Also depends on what you want to do at Atlantis and how long you are there. Water park is open at 10 but slides and lazy river may not open til 11. Water park closes at 5 winter 7 summer. When the tour departs and returns is critical to your decision.

They DO supply towels, so you don't need one from the ship. The food outlets use credit card plus must have a picture ID, no cash. Buses run back to the ship once an hour, and if you miss it you wait for the next bus (usually three or four parked out there and they let you wait in the AC). Buses park near Coral Towers (has a large flag visible from inside the resort), which is a long way from the water park entrance.

See the Bahamas forum for info on buying separate tickets through nearby hotel, at the park or online. Cheaper than through cruise line, especially if you have a larger group. Tours that don't include water park mostly just access public areas of a hotel. The aquarium area is nice, but not worth the price they charge.
