Sent from my iPhone using Forums Yes I know the drinks package price but was looking for current beer/spirit price list. Have done a 15 nighter with package and in my opinion it can be a cruise ruiner chasing the price:halo:
jasper15 Posted November 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2017 I haven't sailed with them out of Australia before but I was on Independence in June (out of Southampton). Cocktails were around $13 US, Beers all around $8-9 and glasses of wine varied greatly but the nicest ones were a minimum $12. Don't forget the drink package includes unlimited bottled water which is $4 per bottle as well as softdrinks, OJ etc. If you have the deluxe package, you can often get the premium spirits in your cocktails without paying any extra. That happened to us on both Independence and Anthem (last year).
Rare MicCanberra Posted November 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Our Ovation cruise next year in march has the package for $70.40 AUD (with out the gratuities, another $12.60, so $83 /day).

You will have a smoke filled casino to look forward to! Its only Australia that has to have grats included, something to do with consumer purchase laws. Funny though how on non aussie sailings the packages are more expensive?
fishtaco Posted November 12, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Sent from my iPhone using Forums Good old VB oil cans! I drink them on carnival USA:cool: I remember in Perth early 1980,s VB was like an exotic beer to buy for sandgropers compred to swan or emu (the only beer sold then in the west) and they only came in those big big cans then:cool:
Rare MicCanberra Posted November 12, 2017 #13 Share Posted November 12, 2017 It is the Fosters that come in the oil cans, VB is in a normal can. I don't drink either.

Correct Fosters in the 750 ml oil can, you need an ice bucket with it to keep it chilled as it take a while to consume. Yes Mic, VB in the 375 ml bottles and cans and in 750 ml 'longnecks'. Not sure if VB still produced in the 250ml 'throwdowns.' Back in my beer drinking days, I used to knock off a carton of 24 Fosters throwdowns, mowing the lawns. I had big lawns, lol.:halo: Many British beers and ciders come in 500ml cans. Big drink for a big thirst.

I am not a gambler anyway so the Casino was only ever used to turn non refundable OBC into Cash. I don't have a lot of OBC for this cruise so won't need to worry about that.:D

Scyl Posted November 13, 2017 #19 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Does the drink package include drinks up to $12 still? Or is it more since Au prices includes gratuity?

dandtgeddes Posted November 14, 2017 #21 Share Posted November 14, 2017 Thank you Clarky 213. I was looking at the prices and was somewhat piqued that I would be paying extra above the $12 mark when I have shelled close to $60 per day already! Heading for the islands, this could be quite dehydrating... TraceyG
Rare lyndarra Posted November 14, 2017 #22 Share Posted November 14, 2017 It would be nice if you get this type of package on board - and at that price. https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-liquor/liquor-detail/ps/p/international-beer-pack-12-x-330ml355ml/ Makes ya wonder how much the cruise lines are making on alcohol. shireboi Posted November 14, 2017 #24 Share Posted November 14, 2017 Wow.... and JUST REMEMBER folks... that the cruise lines are getting this alcohol DUTY FREE themselves. It used to be reasonable - now, it's just greed with their prices One thing that is not 'noted' on these is the currency. Nor the 'gratuity' for someone giving your a bottle. Rare MicCanberra Posted November 14, 2017 #25 Share Posted November 14, 2017 It is in USD and there is a 18% gratuity, which is the standard for on Royal.
