Rare broberts Posted November 27, 2017 #26 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I keep mine in a desk drawer. They are not more valuable than gold and I've been through the "where did I hide them" situation. I find keeping them in an obvious and easily accessible place mean that I can frequently check them. (I'm a worrier.) If the house gets robbed, it's just another item on the list of things to be replaced. Insurance should cover the cost.
HeatherInFlorida Posted November 27, 2017 Author #27 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I would recommend you keep a copy of them at home in case this happens again. Seriously. I even travel with a copy. Already done!!!!! :) I'm betting I know who that TA was/is. Sent from my iPhone using Forums I'm sure you do :). She's cruising right now so doesn't know. Wait until I tell her!!!:'):') I'll see her on our cruise next week. And I'm never "hiding" anything again!!!
potterhill Posted November 27, 2017 #28 Share Posted November 27, 2017 A safety deposit box in the bank would be best Sent from my iPhone using Forums The problem then is you are bound by their opening hours. I misplaced my passport once. Was booked on a cruise in Asia and daughter was in hospital in South Africa. Was going to go to her and on to cruise if able. Couldn’t find passport for 2 days. By then she was better and we were back to original itinerary. So Heather, I totally understand your stress and relief. Enjoy your cruise! KS&JW Posted November 27, 2017 #29 Share Posted November 27, 2017 I learnt last year not to hide things for safety. My mother went into a home and we couldn't find so many important documents. As the days passed, one by one they turned up in obscure places, some dangerous.Worst was valuable jewellery sewn in the lining of her curtains(drapes).!! I hope I never put my kids through it.😂 Lining of her curtains? I never would have thought to look. :o
