check out on Amazon, NTONpower usb power strip with 2 outlets and 3 usb, 15" cord w/flat plug $16.99. cord wraps around unit and plugs into the side of it so that you can't see the cord. sorry i don't know how to put a link to it here.

 

google "nton power rcp-2a3u-us" . it's very small, light weight, cord isn't visible when packed. $16.99 on amazon.

Don't take anything with a surge suppressor. They are fire hazards. Cords can be too but it's the surge protector you want to avoid.

After much searching, I've settled on this one, no surge protection and no cords.

Three AC outlets and three USB ports.

And I really like the added night-lite feature.

For only $18 I figure its worth a try....

I have the Belkin USB plug and sounds like the one you are asking about and guess it has surge protection. I actually bought it for travel and didn't realize the potential fire hazard. I will not be taking it anymore and will be looking to buy something else for my next cruise. I believe I might have read about this in passing before (think) but what I wasn't realizing was that the one I have is surge protected ... ugh.
