Perfectionistcruiser Posted December 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2017 I understand from a friend on board that yesterday’s sailing was delayed till 4.00 pm today, local time, for safety reasons. Given that Captain Adam is the Master, I would have full confidence in his decision to delay the departure, we have sailed with him very many times in Arctic and Antarctic seas . Sad for those on board which is only a ten day cruise, but as we all know safety must come first.
Stumblefoot Posted December 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Another contributor stated the Cloud is heading for The Falklands. Did you friend say anything about that itinerary change? I don’t know how they can possibly reach the Antarctic Peninsula leaving a day late and heading to Stanley instead of The Drake Passage when the next voyage departs Ushuaia on Dec 11. Carol From California Posted December 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Hoping someone on the December 1 cruise will post here to let us know if the cruise ever left Ushuaia and when. We are scheduled to be on the Cloud in February and anxious to know if the repair fix worked and if the weather is cooperating enough to sail the Drake Passage. A word from Silversea would be nice. Scott1sh Posted December 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2017 The Cloud left Ushuaia around 5pm on Saturday 2 December. We were returning from Antarctica onboard Ponant's Le Lyrial and sailed past one another. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
