How will I be notified when I am assigned a cabin on my guarantee booking?

Booked a guarantee JS for a January cruise through an internet TA. I have never booked a guarantee on RCCL before. I keep checking my on-line check-in screen but I'm not sure that will reflect it. The TA isn't much help--I knew that from the get--just used them to get the OBC. Will I be notified?

No, you won't be notified by Royal.

If you go to the My Cruises and then click on the reservation number, it will be under the stateroom section if it has been assigned. For our January cruise, we switched to a JS GTY and got assigned within 2 days since we'd already made our final payment. But that's how I found out, just by going to the reservation online. Good luck!

now what you are saying is very interesting about not being notified. Dont know if its a UK thing - but we are ALWAYS notified in an email from RCI when the cabin is assigned, and we do GTY cabins quite a lot.

I do check the reservation but I don't need to, as within 24 hours of the cabin being assigned we always receive an updated invoice which reflects the cabin number

We also do guarantees cabins quite a lot and have never been notified by RCI. The allocation just appears eventually on our cruise planner.

Do you use a travel agent or do you book directly with Royal Caribbean?

In the event your room is assigned less than 24 hrs before sailing, can you still print luggage tags?

I know the porter has tag that you can write on it but I always laminate them for free back at work.

No, that function disappears about 72 hours before embarkation.

Hi there, we always book directly - maybe that makes a difference too ?

Should not make a difference with the cruise line. However, the agent may take the extra step of checking for you periodically.
