mrstmaxx Posted December 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Hi - it looks like there is beverages and food at the Cafe (I hope I have the name correct). I believe there is a cost for the beverages but is the food free similar to the IC on Princess? Thank you
margieef Posted December 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2017 There was no charge for the food at the cafe when we were there in 2015 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Yes -- the food is free. We were on a ship a couple of years and they had a sign up indicating that you could only have a pastry, sandwich, etc., if you bought a coffee/tea. Hopefully that rules has been dropped on all ships.
Rare Lady Arwen Posted December 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2017 All food was free on our Koningsdam cruise in May.

Only if any passenger can get the food regardless of drink purchase would I say that the food items are free.

Our experience has always been free food for anyone at Explorations Cafe, no beverage purchase required. We often drop by after dinner to get a chocolate-dipped strawberry. Rare Crew News Posted December 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 23, 2017 Charges are only for beverages. Food is free for the asking with no need to purchase a beverage. This week on the Veendam several passengers were selecting a number of sweets for movie watching. The barista had to ask them to leave some for other as one passenger wanted 20 chocolate strawberries.
Rare WriterOnDeck Posted December 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 23, 2017 Note that the food is of the small snack variety. EG small muffin in morning. Not meal-type food.

I always buy a latte when I go there-and they are very good. I will usually get a treat too-one for me & one for hubby.
