Do not have to gamble at all. However, if the casino rate included beverages while gambling you do have to be at a table or machine in order to receive the free drinks. Cannot go up to the casino bar and order your own drinks for free.

I get casino offers all the time but have never checked beverage. How does one know if included? Is it explicit in offer.

The beverages usually come along with a VIP offer which includes a discounted or free cruise and multiple perks and events during the cruise. All of this would be specified in the mailer that you receive.

The casino rates are different and give you the discounted cruise rate but no other perks unless you gamble in which case they will likely give you a free drink or cabin goodies or even a dinner in a specialty restaurant if you're playing a lot. Gambling is optional though, there's no strings attached with the casino offers.

Thanks. As I get offers all sorts ways I wasn’t sure. I will read more carefully in future. Since I don’t drink a lot, not a huge deal. One of the hosts usually checks and offers.

I appreciate the clarification, tho. Happy sailing.

We don't gamble a lot but still received the offers in October and this month. On the Royal this month, the slot machine I wanted to try was always occupied. I played a few others, but never found one that was fun. My total input in the machines was $50. I brought home $46 of that. I was amazed at how many points some folks had on machines.

Casino rates are basically those that have patronized the casino at any time for any amazing. They are just basic discounts that don’t include special perks.

VI0 and Prestige rates include extras, and you don’t need to read the small print. The perks will be dominant on the offer. Your free drinks, Casin cash, etc...

Do these offers come from Princess - or should I be looking out for some other email address?

I typically read my e-mail like I use caller ID - - If I don't recognize the number/e-mail address I don't answer/read.

Does anyone understand why this is called a casino rate? It seems to go to people very randomly. Friends of mine have been given this perk and they don't gamble! Hard to understand

In reality, this casino offers by email, aren't generated directly from the casino dept, but rather are nothing more than Princess using the casino reference so that they can fill projected empty cabins without jeopardizing the rack rates of their existing bookings requiring discounts or that a general price drop would create.

The 2017 hurricanes severally affected future Caribbean bookings, so once again like in the past Princess used the casino "fire sale" rate to fill cabins.

There just aren't enough serious gambler's to fill that many cabins, hence the emails to all the casual and non gamblers.

They come from Princess. But you can also see the special rates when you sign in to the Princess website and check on upcoming cruises. There were several more cruises that we could have gotten great rates on than the one we took in December.

Geocruiser- Me and my husband spend $100 in the casino most nights and we receive $25 each. They have started a new process where you get special casino chips to use. We play Let It Ride and if you win they pay out the chip amount and take your special casino chip. The old way was better they would give you $25 but I am sure some people did not use it in the casino so they changed to chips. Or if you play slots they will put it on your cruise card and after you play they will deduct the casino credit amount. They will not give out the casino credit in money.

Thanks for the info. My DH doesn't not go into the casino. I do, but don't spend more that $20. per day if that. So, I guess no casino discount for us!!

Is it $100 PP per night or $100 for two people per night? If you don't mind answering.
