pghsteelerfan Posted December 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Yes, it's happened to us. It was a gal who was assigned to us for a few years and she'd call every time either of us logged in. We haven't been on the website lately, party due to not wanting the calls, so we haven't received any more calls from her. A couple of months ago we started getting calls from another PVP (a guy), out of the blue and we hadn't even logged into Carnival's website. He was calling quite frequently, several times those two weeks and even twice on one of the days. We didn't answer and he just left voice mail that he was our assigned PVP and to give him a call for the latest deals and to help plan a cruise. He hasn't called recently. We usually book through a TA who is a family friend or we do it on our own, so never used a PVP.

I log in so I can see if there's special pricing for past guests. I won't bother doing that now though. Thanks
sarmat1 Posted December 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Try taking your phone number out of your profile. Granted it's a required field, so just put a fake one. If they don't have your phone number, they can't call you. I used to get phone calls all the time, and that fixed it.

Pops, Esq. Posted December 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2017 They have the ability to put you on a "no call" list of some sort. I think I am on it. When I first booked with Carnival, I would quite regularly check for price drops. I would also frequently get calls to my home number from a PVP looking for business (can't blame them). Since we rarely actually answer the home phone, that is really no problem for me. THEN, my wife happened to answer. The guy on the phone referenced the "cruise you recently booked" and asked if she had any questions. Well, my wife had no idea what he was talking about, since I had booked the cruise as a surprise for our anniversary. A surprise. So, naturally, her only question was, "we are going on a cruise?" I sent a message on FB to John Heald and explained the situation and also said if I had any questions, I would be sure to call them. I have not received a call since that message. So, I know they can stop the calls because it happened to me. Oh, and for those who want to check past-guest rates? You can check the box to "show past guest rates" and not put in your number. It still will show those past-guest rates. You can't check your personal offers, of course, but you can see past-guest rates.

BNBR Posted December 29, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Taking your phone number out doesn't help. I had this same issue, eventually it stopped. I had to tell her over and over to stop calling. Then I blocked the number, but still had to delete all of her voicemails. It's super obnoxious. But it did just finally stop. Baxter Posted December 29, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2017 I called recently to complain and to ask to be put on a no-call list. Ironically, I was told I needed to email them at donotmail@carnival.com with the following information: The phone number the calls come to Name, address and birthdate associated with the account. We haven't received a call since.
True Texan Posted December 29, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 29, 2017 A few years ago I had a really obnoxious lady calling me almost daily. I emailed the customer care dept (I think). and gave them her name and told them no more Carnival cruises until it stopped. Never got another call. WiCruiseDreamer Posted December 29, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 29, 2017 I have never gotten a call after logging in. I log in daily, at least once, if not multiple times. My phone is listed and have never had an issue. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Tapatalk
tbg819 Posted December 29, 2017 #14 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Yup - every time I go on carnivals website - it generates a phone call within an hour. Very annoying - finally told the guy to quit calling me and if I wanted to book something I’d call them. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
sfaaa Posted December 29, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 29, 2017 The question is why did you answer if you don't want to take the call assuming your phone has call display which most do.
CruiseBride926 Posted December 29, 2017 #16 Share Posted December 29, 2017 I got a call about a month ago. I informed the gentleman that I had just found out I was pregnant so would probably be taking a few years off from cruising. He responded with “So should I call you in January?” Um no sir. No you shouldn’t. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
naxer Posted December 29, 2017 #17 Share Posted December 29, 2017 It used to happen to me, but it has stopped. I'm not sure why. It was always my assigned PVP. Maybe she figured me out? I do have a nice cruise booked--did that help? It didn't used to. But I am glad she stopped. Now, she waits for me to email or call her.

ltcTN Posted December 30, 2017 #25 Share Posted December 30, 2017 I think it depends on the PVP. I have used the same one for years, Michelle Atchinson, ext 82558 and She has NEVER bugged me. I actually wish she would call once a month or so just to see what the specials are athe the moment. Missed a great casino deal a few months back!
