What to do with my "stuff" while swimming?

I can't seem to see any threads that mention this. What does one do with their money, phone, ship card etc while on the beach. I don't see anything about beach locker rentals in change rooms (if they exist). Do we have to take turns swimming? Still trying to pick a beach in Aruba for a morning or afternoon. We're not big beach people but I'm determined this time to spend some time in the water! Thanks

We use this when we're concerned about our stuff, but 95% of the time, we don't even need that. Taking turns is a good way to do it. DH stays on the sand most of the time and I'm always in the water so our stuff is pretty safe. For the time that he joins me, we just keep our eye on our stuff from the ocean and hope for the best.

You could also chain your bag to your chair. I bought this for my suitcases but it works for anything that has a strap:

I've used this on trains when my luggage has to be out of my direct sight. Would work well with a backpack. It won't stop someone from stealing your stuff, but it'll slow them way down if they have to carry a chaise lounge attached to your bag and run across hot sand.

You will see others from your ship on the beach...if you want to take a dip, ask someone nearby to keep an eye on your stuff. Or...don't bring a bunch of expensive crap ashore! No one wants your flip flops or tee shirt. Your cabin key, credit card and cash can get wet, you know...water doesn't hurt them, so stick that into the velcroed pocket on the man's swim trunks! I just stick my little bit of cash into the pages of an old paperback book....no one want's that, either. You won't be in the water for hours.....and you're never far from you "spot on the beach"...Caribbean beaches are very narrow.

I put small "valuables" (ID, money, etc.) in a zip lock bag, and put it in a small pouch (https://www.carnival.com/FunShops/item/X9F/tropical-print-tote-bag) that you either put around your neck or around your waist while swimming. The pouch doesn't have to be waterproof since the stuff that needs to stay dry in a baggie anyway.

I have one of these. Not the strongest in the world, but it is a deterrent. It is a really nice bag. I also never leave valuables in it, don't take our phones with us.

I take a waterproof belt bag and put cash, credit cards and ship cards in that. If it leaks, no big deal. Vendors will take soggy money if they have to.
