Fort Lauderdale Airport

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if there is a liquor store at Ft. Lauderdale Airport so I can buy a bottle of wine to take on RC's Freedom of the Seas. We booked everything, cruise, air and shuttle through them and would like to buy a bottle to take on board. Last time I packed one, it broke. This way, I can just buy one and carry it on the ship.

Thanks

We did transfers through RC so not sure we will have a chance to stop.

Probably not. Can you cancel the transfers and just get a taxi? It's a short trip and probably cheaper than the cruise line transfers, even with a quick stop along the way.

Thanks. The transfers were $33.00 roundtrip. I don't need it that bad. If I can't get it at the airport, no big problem

Taxi is faster and cheaper, $15-$20 each way for the group, not per person.

The taxi is far less and you don't have to wait for a bus to fill up. Even if I didn't want to stop for wine, I still take the taxi over Royal's transfer.

I would cancel your RCI transfer to the ship and take a taxi. You can call Total Wine, purchase and pay for your wine, then when you get to FLL, take a taxi and have him stop by on the way to the port to pick up your purchase. http://www.totalwine.com/store-info/florida-fort-lauderdale/904?cid=referral:YEXT::SERP_website_link:904_fort_lauderdale_store_page: It should be easy peasy. No muss, no fuss.

P.S. There's really no reason to take the RCI transfer from/to the airport at FLL. In fact, there are many reasons why you shouldn't.

Taxi to wine shop and back to airport, then RC transfer to the ship?

Once youi get to Total Wine, you are basically at the entrance to the port. I'd just pay the taxi to wait. Total Wine takes web orders, so the order could be ready to go.

Duty Free is only available to international travellers. Unless you are flying in from Canada (I see you are in Grand Island NY - so close) you probably don’t qualify for a duty free purchase. As well, depending on the airport you can only buy duty Free when leaving not arriving.
