beachbum29 Posted January 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2018 We will be visting Grand Cayman aboard the Liberty of the Seas. We are looking for advice on getting to 7 mile beach? Should we take a cab? Is there anywhere that rents lounge chairs? What are some good places for drinks/lunch?
bookbabe Posted January 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Do you need facilities such as a restaurant and watersports rentals? Are you willing to rent a car and go further afield? What are your must-haves in a beach? More info about some of the sections of SMB is in post #4 of this thread: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2551309
camijo Posted January 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Calico Jack's find them on FB, you can get a lot of information there. That's where I'm headed in July!
cb at sea Posted January 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Hop on the bus...$2.50 pp...they will stop wherever you want...Seagrape Beach or Calico Jacks has all the "facilities" you could need! When you're done, walk the few steps back to the road, and the next bus will stop to take you back to port.
scvgirl Posted January 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Our taxi driver took the 9 of us to Hemingway's - closer than Public Beach and a fantastic location. The Hemingway's Hotel is closed for renovation, but the pool, beach, jacuzzi, restaurant, beach service, loungers and umbrellas were fantastic. Our ship was the first to arrive out of the 6 in port that day, so we were able to score front row loungers on the beach. They serve food and drinks to you on the beach. It was not crowded at all and we didn't even pay for umbrella or loungers like the other resorts on 7 mile beach. Perhaps our taxi driver had a connection with them. We only paid for the taxi ($5 per person x 9 of us = $35 each way) plus food. We asked the driver to pick us up at 1:15 to return to port for some shopping and he picked us up precisely at 1:15.
