lady_cruiser Posted January 30, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Get it ! Once you skip a line with 1000 people in it outside the building and you are sitting in the area for FTTF waiting to be boarded you will be happy. Plus your room is ready when you board and you don't have to go to the counters and get your cards. You do have to go to the counter to get your key on the Triumph. summersigh Posted January 30, 2018 #29 Share Posted January 30, 2018 My DH uses wheelchair assistance as there's no way he can make it on board otherwise so for us FTTF is not so important. We let them know we're there, they get him a chair and we check-in soon after arriving but then have to wait until one of the 2 or 3 CCL pushers and chair are available to board the ship. We really don't mind as long as we have a place to sit and wait. We use a rolling tote bag so toting it along with us is no big chore. When we board we go to the Lido for a leisurely lunch and then an umbrella drink out on deck. By that time the cabin is ready. If FTTF is available and you want it you'd best grab it while you can get it. I was looking at excursions the other day. When I logged in FTTF was available. By the time I checked on 1 excursion and went back to the list - it was already sold out.
Drazil65 Posted January 30, 2018 #30 Share Posted January 30, 2018 TO OP: FTTF typically does not last long so if you see it today then you might want to consider it today, if not you will be stalking it until you see it again (if you see it again). It is very popular (especially among those that have cruise with it previously) and sells out pretty fast.
Oshawapilot Posted January 30, 2018 #31 Share Posted January 30, 2018 In my last three cruises with FTTF, my stateroom was not ready when I boarded twice and I have yet to receive my luggage before 3pm. I thought about complaining, but clearly my room steward was frazzled beyond measure when I arrived, no reason to just get him and the luggage staff yelled at because Carnival has placed some unreasonable work metric upon them. Agreed. I've often thought about how insane it must be for the stewards to try to turn over all the staterooms in just hours as it is (much less having to super rush/prioritize some), especially if they are left with a few that were inhabited by real pigs the week before that twice as long to turn over. The last thing they need is be thrown under the bus by passengers complaining the moment they board. I'm going to guess that FTTF is something the stateroom attendants dread with a passion. Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted January 30, 2018 #32 Share Posted January 30, 2018 We havent cruised since the 90s and FTTF sounds like a perfect beginning to the cruise. I purchased this yesterday for our May family cruise, but was a little bit confused when there were options to "add" the other occupants of my cabin, since FTTF was a cabin charge, not per person. I did add them at first thinking they needed to be listed for the FTTF program so as to have their S&S cards correct. But I removed them when the additional charge popped up in the window. So..... I purchased only under my name with the correct cabin charge. I called Carnival just to clarify, but the representative, although very pleasant, she sounded very new, and didnt completely ease my fear that this was correctly done. By having it listed only under my name, will there be any problems at check in (waiting, s&s cards, etc) ? or should I have added my other family members, and the amount somehow adjusted after purchase? If you look at your boarding passes thou will see that each person's pass has the fttf logo. That's how you will know you did it right Sent from my SM-G930P using Forums mobile app
gabeandbelle Posted January 30, 2018 #33 Share Posted January 30, 2018 I have always bought FTTF and really like the ability to go right to our cabin drop off our carry on, I already have the date set to get in in our 2/2020 cruise Sent from my iPhone using Forums
zorky12 Posted January 30, 2018 #34 Share Posted January 30, 2018 I took this exact picture last week! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Forums I was on this ship also this past week. Vista. And that picture is towards the end of the line lol. That line goes all the way down the front of the building and then inside. I kind of felt bad when I walked past all that and went in the VIP entrance. Had my passports scanned and as sitting in the FTTF area in less than 5 minutes after arriving to the port. bury me at sea Posted January 30, 2018 #38 Share Posted January 30, 2018 can you tell me exactly where to look for it on the site Where you book excursions. It is in the Manage My Booking section. agentlove Posted January 30, 2018 #39 Share Posted January 30, 2018 so if it is not there then it is not available correct?
teknoge3k Posted January 30, 2018 #40 Share Posted January 30, 2018 I can't imagine cruising without FTTF. When you walk past 1,000+ people standing in line waiting, and you go directly to your waiting area then get on the ship priority. Not to mention we carry 4 packages of soda on with us so it's nice to drop them off at the room and not have to carry them around until 1:30. Then if we need to go to GS we don't have a line there. We also do not book excursions through the cruise line, instead we use independent vendors. So we like to get on the first tender to get to the island to start our excursion. d12j28 Posted January 30, 2018 #41 Share Posted January 30, 2018 so if it is not there then it is not available correct? On the left hand side under excursions expand the section "refine by". Check just the faster to the fun box and it will come up. It will say sold out if not available.
LuckyStar Posted January 30, 2018 #42 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Has anyone felt the price is to much or to little?????? For me, it's too much. $69.95? It isn't worth it to me, personally.
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted January 30, 2018 #43 Share Posted January 30, 2018 so if it is not there then it is not available correct? It will be there one way or the other. Either available to get, or listed as sold out. When you look at excursions, click on your home port.
bury me at sea Posted January 30, 2018 #44 Share Posted January 30, 2018 so if it is not there then it is not available correct? Depends on how far out your cruise is. Are other excursions available? Generally once it is released and announced as an excursion it will remain on the Port 1 list, but will show "Sold Out", if sold out, because some will probably be canceled or added. Can someone explain how the tendering benefit works? In the tendering process instructions distributed to all (probably the day before, I think in the Fun Times) FTTF folks will be given a time and location to meet in. You'll be escorted to the tender from there.
grandmarnnurse Posted January 30, 2018 #47 Share Posted January 30, 2018 So, let me get this correct. FTTF is per “cabin” not “per person”?? I thought I had to buy it for both myself and my husband. I’m looking for it to show up in my excursions, but I want to make sure I book it correctly. Sent from my iPad using Forums
