Rare ReneeFLL Posted February 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2018 I'm looking at a cruise on Adventure OTS and the cabins I like are already booked so I'm now looking at cabin 8622. The balcony looks like it's only a tiny bit bigger than other hump cabins. Is it very much bigger or are the deck plans fairly accurate?

In the case of Voyager and Freedom class ships, the deck plans are not accurate with regard to hump balcony size. The balcony size is the same for all side-facing staterooms in the same category. deliver42 Posted February 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2018 The big advantage of a hump cabin is that they are opposite the elevators.
cb at sea Posted February 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Voyager and Freedom class ships have NO size advantage to the "hump" cabins. It's the convenience factor that is the draw. The elevators and stairs are mere steps away....and they are in a foyer, so there is no noise issue. Lucky you to grab such a cabin!
deliver42 Posted February 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2018 I have one booked on the Mariner when it comes to Port Canaveral.
CTCruiser76 Posted February 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We are doing the "Hump"ty dance for our cruise in April on the Freedom - As said above - they are in the perfect location. Even better if you are on deck 6 - its just a quick few steps to get your morning coffee on 5 early in the AM.
taglovestocruise Posted February 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Stick with 8622, 18 and 20 have doors that open directly into the elevator and stairwell opening. I like the hump because of the protruding view you get, I find the proximity to the elevators a disadvantage due to the traffic from the stairs and elevator. happy cruising
Rare ReneeFLL Posted February 13, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Thanks for the info on the hump cabins. We like the balconies, but the disadvantage for us is the elevators. The humps are my second choice if we can't get an aft. Trust me, I can use the walk from the back of the ship. :D
Dizziedi Posted February 13, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2018 We are on the Voyager tomorrow:D :D:D on the hump on Deck 10 - love the proximity to the lifts. Cheers Di
voidstar Posted February 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2018 The big advantage of a hump cabin is that they are opposite the elevators. That's also the massive disadvantage. I was in a balcony cabin on deck 7 at the hump, and there was a constant stream of kids running up and down the hallways and calling out, even at midnight. Don't get a cabin in the middle of the ship unless it's completely out of school holidays. Get a cabin at either end where hopefully there's less traffic coming past.
