NR_Canada Posted February 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Hello Cruisers, I am fairly new to cruising and will be going on a cruise in April 2018. I will be staying in a hotel within Orlando, Florida and have to be at the Port Canaveral, Florida cruise port. I am reading that there are various ways to get to the port, some affordable and some not so affordable. From your experience, what is the most affordable and reliable way to go to Port Canaveral from a hotel in Orlando, Florida? Looking forward to your responses and expertise! Rare mom says Posted February 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2018 How are you getting to your hotel in Orlando? How many people in your group? Which cruiseline? If you're a couple, then getting one of the shuttle buses between MCO and the port (reserve in advance) will likely be cheapest. If you're a family, then a one day car rental each way will likely be cheaper than a shuttle. NR_Canada Posted February 19, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Hi Mom Says, We're arriving one day early, so we will be at our hotel the day that we need to go to Port Canaveral. We are a couple, 2 people. We are going with Royal Caribbean.
Rare mom says Posted February 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2018 I know you'll be at your hotel. But if you want cheap, you'll likely have to get back to MCO for a transfer to Canaveral. You might also check out the Florida Departures Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495. It has lots of information about Port Canaveral. Straitlover Posted February 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Last cruise, we rented a car one way. You can drop off all the luggage (and extra folks if you want), return the car and take the shuttle back to the port. Just make sure the rental place does have a shuttle, not all do I believe.
