giheat Posted March 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2018 I know that the walls are metal on Carnival ships. We would like to take a magnet to stick to the outside of the door. Are the doors metal?
dmdiver Posted March 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2018 The ones we have been on have had metal doors. However, we had very weak refrigerator magnets and they didn't stay on very well. So, be sure you get some strong ones.
Rare Essiesmom Posted March 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2018 They are weakly metal. Magnets don’t stick. But the frame is metal so you can put magnets there. EM
marshhawk Posted March 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2018 I always bring non stick (easily removable ) scotch tape. Since I put on our suitcase tags on the morning we leave the hotel for the ship, and they don't want them to be stapled on because they can hurt the porter's hands. Sophia67 Posted March 7, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2018 I use heavy duty magnets from Harbor Freight to hang our door decorations. Worked on the Magic, Sunshine, and Miracle. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Cruiseaholichal Posted March 7, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2018 Why on earth would you need magnets ?
dmdiver Posted March 7, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2018 We were using the magnets just to make our cabin easier to spot. What worked even better for us was one of those swirly paper decorations that are meant to hang from the ceiling. We just clipped it on our mailbox. I haven’t been on a cruise since the mailbox became a thing. Are the mailboxes magnetic? Or do I just need to get any type of clip or clothespin? dmdiver Posted January 12, 2019 #12 Share Posted January 12, 2019 Not sure what the mailbox is made of. The swirly thing has a small plastic split ring that I just hook over the edge. You could also use a paper clip.
