Have you ever done the exact same cruise on the exact same ship?

The closest I’ve come to booking the same cabin on a cruise was on the cruise ship and itinerary I repeated. I sailed the NCL Getaway in 2017, and when I booked that same ship for 2018, I asked for the same inside cabin, as it was in a perfect location. Although Inwas booking one year in advance, that cabin was already taken, but I got the cabin right next door! Just as perfect!

Pretty much all of my cruises thus far have been to the same ports of call and on the same ship (or class of ship).

I still have a good time every time.

You're in port for so little time, to us the ship is the vacation. The ports of call are just a plus. If I wanted to really visit these places, I'd fly there and stay longer than 5 hours.

This is exactly how we feel for the Carribean cruises. We consider every cruise as our Health spa getaway: Literally. We are on a ship to relax, we always buy a spa pass to enjoy a thalassotherapy pool (if there is one on the ship), or heated lounges, etc.

To us the ship is a destination. If we want to visit a place we take a land-based vacation so we can fully enjoy it.

My wife/family and I enjoyed our last cruise so much. I told my wife that I'd love to book the exact same cruise (out of the exact same port, exact same ship, exact same stops) again later this year, and she said I was crazy. hah

For me....*shrug*....I kinda liked the idea? You'd be familiar with the ship, familiar with the stops and what not. I don't know. Have any of you ever done it multiple times and enjoyed it (or NOT enjoyed it?) Thoughts?

I've cruised on Carnival 33 times, so yes, I've sailed the same ship/ports multiple times. I don't see a thing wrong with it. I often stay on the ship instead of going into port. I enjoy ship time and love sea days.

I've done the Pride out of Baltimore 4 times; the Victory three times, and several other ships twice. I suppose the thing is, once you find a port/iteniary that works well for you - and you can repeat it - do it as often as you can.

I like to try out different ships and ports, but last year I did sail Vista twice on her 6 day Ocho Rios/Grand Cayman/Cozumel itinerary. Once was with my husband on a B2B, second time was with my mom for her first cruise.

I'd have no problem doing so if we liked the ports. We're not beach people in the sense that we hunt down a beach at every port. We like to sight-see and check out the local culture. So if we've been on ship Q to ports A, B & C before, we can easily go on the same ship to the same ports. After all, every port has something else to see or do than the one thing we saw or did before.

My first two cruises were on the Pride from Baltimore to PC, Nassau and Freeport, during the same week of the year, in 2010 and 2011. My first one was my first ever cruise, so when I loved it and decided to go again, it made sense to cruise with the familiarity. While I did enjoy both cruises, when it came time to book Cruise #3, I changed cruise lines, but had the same itinerary, because the Port of Baltimore is 20 minutes from my home. After that cruise in 2012, I said the seas were too choppy, the ports were repetitive, and that particular week of the year was too cold to cruise from Maryland. So, I have since ventured away to new ships, cruise lines, departure ports, and destinations.

I think familiarity is good. If you're just going to relax and solely relax, it's great. But I enjoy packing adventure into my port days, and enjoying different ships/cruise lines, so I have not repeated the same exact cruise, or itinerary, since November 2010/November 2011 with Pride, and don't plan to.

My duplicate cruise was on Paradise out of Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. These are 2 of my favorite ports and I do like the Fantasy class ships on the shorter cruises. Most likely I will cruise this again at some point.

I would do the Pride again and again and I hate the ports she stops at, but for me it is the ship, not the ports. The more sea days the better.

I agree! I love cruising on the Pride. We have been on it for 7 cruises and going again in September . I don’t like the ports either but Baltimore is so close and I love the layout and the crew is fantastic! Oh, and we enjoy it when Ken Byrnes is on.

I've done the same ship , same room , same itinaray and same cruise director 3 times . Before I bought my house I flew down checked out a few properties and did a cruise , It was cheap and I liked the ports . Then after I bought my house it was a close port and family came down on two occasions and we did a cruise when they came to visit . I saw the same rooms available so I figured why not . I was familiar with the ship and layout . It gave me a chance to some things different that I was willing to change and to do some of the things that I liked all over again .The price was right on all three trips too . Instead of paying to go out to dinner each night at places I eat at on a regular basis I got to go some place I like for around the same amount of money .

Yes, several times since I cruise for the ship and not so much the ports these days.

Just did Pride in Feb. and Mar. and I'm going again in Apr. but this itinerary is Bermuda and not Nassau.

Sailed on Splendor 5X in 2014 and had the same cabin steward 3 cruises in a row:D:D:D

We'e cruised on Carnival Pride four times. Two of those were supposed to be the same itinerary, but weather forced changes to two out of three ports on one of those cruises. I love the ship, it's very convenient to cruise out of Baltimore, and I like having a balance of sea days and ports (most of Pride's itineraries have three sea days and three ports). I'd sail her again but I think we're both ready to try a bigger ship.

Yes, we sailed on the Carnival Victory which left from San Juan to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Lucia (and maybe somewhere else) LOL and we had too good a time the first go 'round (my husband's 50th bday) we did it the following year.
