Tracy Po Posted March 13, 2018 #401 Share Posted March 13, 2018 he liked the morning activities, called “Balls, Balls, Balls”. What 10 year old boy wouldn’t, for the humour or the sports. How did Owen like "Balls, balls, balls?" Was it a morning full of fun and innuendos?
wolfganghowell Posted March 13, 2018 #402 Share Posted March 13, 2018 Sharon with her first bushwhacker. Thumbs up. That was cruel on so many levels. One of these days I'll finally learn how to load pictures here and get my revenge. But then when I do a review people will copy and post them over and over and drive me insane. Hmm.... FloridaPalms Posted March 14, 2018 #408 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Enjoying your review and love the pictures and videos. Owen seems to be doing very good on the boogie board. Has he ever tried stand-up yet or is he too young? Next best thing to being on a cruise is a great live review like this! Thanks for taking us along. ~ Judy

Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 14, 2018 Author #410 Share Posted March 14, 2018 How was the sailaway party? Wife and I will be in a GS on Harmony next month. Any festivities/drink options? My wife likes to maximize active time, so trying to decide if this is worth the time away from other activities. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The had Champaign, and a fruity type of drink but I took a bottle of water as I knew it would be relatively hot. Unfortunately we had dinner reservations at 6 so had had to leave before we got far away from the pier. We have enjoyed it in the past, as it is a unique thing to do, but we don’t always attend. I’d say go at least once, espically if you have never done it. Enjoying your review and love the pictures and videos. Owen seems to be doing very good on the boogie board. As for Owen’s height, he is about 1/8 of an inch to short to try stand up. However, a year from now on his next ship with a wave he will be. Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 14, 2018 Author #411 Share Posted March 14, 2018 For those who asked about where we were today, here is some information. We were at the Emerald Bay Beach Club. It is minutes from the ship, and there is no admittance cost. Taxi was $4 per person each way. It is ant as nice as Meagan’s or Coki but it is less than 15 minutes from buzzing off the ship to stepping onto the beach. I will say though that it has become a lot busier over the years. Here is a map to the beach. You can get chairs etc or just sit on the sand. They have sea doos, fly boarding, food and a bar. The beach is very sandy and there are a few rocks in the water but it is no where like the amount in the Great Lakes. Washrooms are clean and it has a very safe feel. Here are a few pics of the area. Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 14, 2018 Author #412 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Now I’m going to be honest, where we were did need storm repairs in spots. If you looked you would see it, but if saw the positive you could glance over it. This is what the bar looked like after Irma. They, like others in the island, are rebuilding. That being said the very loosely deemed resort next door appears not to be. It was a dive before and now the only thing operating there is the bar. The same situation plays throughout the island. But the bar is open at the non operational resort. They are trying to make the best of it.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 14, 2018 Author #413 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Even at the busy Crown Bay Port you could see cosmetic damage to the buildings. This is a small example. After you get back on the ship and look at the surroundings you can see it. Amazingly where we were there were no beached boats in the immediate area, but some in the distance. The hills are starting to green up, but they have a way to go. When you look at the hills you can see debris such as roofs and walls that had been thrown around. Not to mention he amount of blue tarps on roofs of buildings. We did our part to help the local economy and it will take a long time for them to round the corner. Rare A&L_Ont Posted March 14, 2018 Author #414 Share Posted March 14, 2018 We also had some animal spotting going on. These two beasts fought, but not to the death. And speaking of animals it’s the perfect segue to the next pictures. Our towel animal zoo. First was the elephant. Followed by the dog. Then in honour of Lucy, we got a cat with a mouse. I considered getting ketchup and squirting the mouse, but it didn’t.

ThreesCompany_ Posted March 14, 2018 #424 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Thank you for the update on St. Thomas. Such a beautiful island and people. When my husband were there on a cruise many, many moons ago, we rented a jeep and drove ourselves around the island. It's one of our most favorite memories and we hope to go back one day. I am intrigued by breakfast at Johnny Rockets. Do they have breakfast food? or is it - burgers for breakfast, why not!!

We have made many like that over the years ourselves. We will never forget them either. They have breakfast food, eggs bacon, toast, sausages, coffee, milk etc. When we were on St. Thomas and St. Maarten last month it was so clear that even with the destruction still around from the storms the beauty of the islands still shines through. 100% agree.
