M Life benefits on Royal Caribbean - don't miss out on OBC

Recommended Posts

The poster attempting to gain the benefit has not said they got M life because of Royal Caribbean. They might have had M life separately before. When you call simply ask them to look up your M life and provide that membership number. It can't be that only me and a friend of mine got this with a simple 2 minute phone call.

Although I was already an MLife member, I did get Platinum status due to my Crown & Anchor Diamond Plus level. In addition, I just stayed and played in Vegas last week but was told I get nothing. :loudcry: I did do exactly what you did when calling but three different reps said only Club Royale can help with that.

I called Club Royal this morning. We are Platinum with Mlife because we are Diamond Plus with Royal. Called Crown and Anchor and I was told only Club Royal handles this. Called Club Royal and the rep knew exactly what I was talking about and checked my Mlife account but didn't have any benefits. He then checked my husbands and he was offered a 3 day Bahama's cruise with $200 OBC to be used in 2018. He also can receive the $200 OBC on any cruise in 2018. He received this only because of his play with Mlife. However, rep said that since the 2 cruises we have book were offers by Club Royal you can't use both and the Club Royal benefit is better than the $200 OBC so of course we won't use that.

Conclusion: I called C&A three different times, and like the OP I simply asked what MLife benefits I get. All three agents immediately said they could not help me with that and I would need to contact Club Royale (at least they were consistent). Upon inquiring with Club Royale and waiting on the phone about ten minutes the rep came back with an answer. The only thing available to me as a Platinum/Diamond Plus member having just played in Vegas is NOTHING - just the casino rate on a new booking. I told her some lower tier members were getting OBC and she said, "yeah, I don't understand that either."

We use our MLife benefits with RCL all the time. Crazy how many different stories are in here. For Platinum it's usually worth $375 off a 7 nighter, rather than taking the free 3 night cruise. Plus you get better rates than what are listed on the website.

I think the difference is how you earned MLife Status. If you never play at MLife resorts, but you are a high level in MLife because of your Royal status (emerald, diamond, etc) then they will not give you any benefits. This is questionable because some people say they have been able to get them.

If you play at MLife resorts and earned your MLife status directly from MLife, then you are eligible for several different things with Royal like OBC, entertainment tours, discounts, free cruises, etc depending on your level.

Does a comped or discounted booking with Club Royal offer any other perks? I have sailed with Casino of the Seas with NCL and they give you VIP Boarding, a cocktail party and free drinks in the casino.

I still enjoy NCL but have sailed all of the local port itinerary multiple times and would like to try something new!

Thanks! Happy Sailing!

I got my MLife card and status based on my Royal Caribbean  status while at an MGM resort in Vegas a couple years ago. We are Diamond with Royal, and considered Gold with MLife. I call Royal Caribbean today, They hooked me up with Casino Dept., and with our MLife card number we got $125 onboard credit for an upcoming cruise!  Can also take out money at casino with no fee and do the Entertainment Tour. Sweet!!

Hi LMaxwell,

this post is not about MLife but regarding your thread about the Concierge on the Allure. Very sorry but I have to post here since the other thread was locked down. Just needed to let you know what we witnessed:

We were on the Allure sailing April 28. Your concierge was completely the opposite of ours (or was it the same one with a multiple personality?), so much so that she never checked sea pass cards and allowed every body in the lounge whether D or not. Every evening we witnessed certain people bringing in their non D friends and then boasting about their "achievement", sending them off with as many free drinks and plates of snacks as they can carry out with them. The concierge did not do anything when an older couple informed her about it and asked to check cards.

Sorry for the topic deviation.

To get OBC you have to be a Mlife member from MGM. Then based on you mlife status then you can get OBC and free cruises. If you get a MLife card and status based on your Royal Caribbean  status while at an MGM resort in Vegas you get nothing. You have to spend money at MGM properties and a lot of it. This is a partnership with Celebrity and RCL. I am Mlife platinum. You have to earn 200,000 tier credits to earn that status. That means you have to spend $8000 at MGM properties in a calendar year. That is a lot of money. If you are true Mlife gold you get $100 OBC. Platinum will get you $200. Noir is invitation only and that might be $300 OBC but I can't remember.

Interesting observations and appreciate you coming here to share.  Sounds like the pendulum swung too far the other way perhaps?

There are three slot apps I play that are linked to MLife. They are free and you earn coins. Those can be used for MGM resort rewards and RCCL has rewards on there. If you have Facebook the three link your credits. I used credit for my cruise in September and have $100 for just playing free slots on my phone. They are called popslots, mykanomi, and myvegas.

In order to get the Mlife onboard credit, you have to book the mile casino rate. I’m platinum with Mlife, but have never got the credit because royal comps my room. They won’t allow you to get a comp room through royal and onboard credit, I wish though.

Yep - that's what I just got from a phone call today too.  I'm gold with MGM and haven't sailed RCCL yet.  Sadly, they wouldn't add any OBC to it because I didn't book an MGM offer.

The Caesars -> NCL partnership is a way better deal imo.

Royal figured out the MLife scam over a year ago.  But like all programs, sometimes people get things they are not entitled to.

If anyone is getting benefits because of status match tied to your C&A account, they are just lucky.

However,  lightning rarely strikes twice

LMaxwell,

I am SO laughing at the know it alls! Just enjoy your OBC privately.

You are one up on a big bunch of sour grapes.

They send me emails; I call in when my sailing is under 90 days out (per the email) and they add the OBC.  1 cruise they went round and round with me about it, 3 cruises they added it no problem first call no lengthy discussion or anything.
