Booboochase Posted March 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Hi - I just received an email that the Sun is now going to Nassau instead of Grand Bahama Island in June. Of course, it doesn't say why. Any ideas? Not that I mind the change... Thank you in advance!:)
VideoTech Posted March 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Hi - I just received an email that the Sun is now going to Nassau instead of Grand Bahama Island in June. Of course, it doesn't say why. Any ideas? Not that I mind the change...Thank you in advance!:) Could be any number of reasons. One aspect of all this is that many of the Caribbean islands that were damaged by the hurricane can still not handle the kind of capacity for passengers that they used to. So this results in the cruise lines shuffling around their ports of call.
bobsfamily Posted March 27, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Will be on the Sun end of May, originally we were in Key West 1-8pm, now it's 3:30 to 9pm. Something about a change in where we dock or docking times. At least we are at the same port.
bostoncruisegal Posted March 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Just got the same email. We're pretty disappointed, as we specifically picked this weekend over the next weekend as we had never been to Grand Bahama Island, and went to Nassau on our last cruise. Even more odd that they just added a new excursion to Grand Bahama Island into our vacation planner just this past weekend....
Booboochase Posted March 27, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted March 27, 2018 I just noticed it lists 3 Fridays in June.
bostoncruisegal Posted March 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2018 I just noticed it lists 3 Fridays in June. NCL.com was finally updated and it does look like all the June 3-days were moved. Oddly, the May and July 3-days kept Grand Bahama Island....
havanadaydreaming Posted March 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2018 nassau is head and shoulders better thasn Freeport (hence the name change to Grand Bahama). Freeport is easily the worst port I've ever gone to. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Any ideas? Not that I mind the change...Thank you in advance!:) As much as people complain about Nassau, it is head and shoulder above Freeport (Grand Bahama) as a stop. The best thing to do at Grand Bahama is to stay on the ship.
jdvmd Posted March 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 30, 2018 Nassau is the only place I will stay on the ship. Truly enjoy Freeport and have been there numerous times for cruises and land vacations.
