Joe12 Posted April 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Just seen the new crew name tag. I don't like them. They omit the crew member's surname and don't include the flags for those who are multilingual. I know it is a small thing, but I think Royal should bring back the old ones. Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted April 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Is the name printed larger? I would like that.
Joe12 Posted April 4, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Is the name printed larger? I would like that. About the same size. They don't include the surname, which I don't understand.
ONECRUISER Posted April 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2018 (edited) Noticed that on cruise last year. Can see why, privacy in this day of online. In Main Dining at least still have whole names on tables.. I remember in 1990's when they started taking surnames off name tags in Service industry even Management... Ashland Posted April 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2018 I wish they would have made the wording (name and country) larger I have no interest in their last name.....I hate having to stare and get up close to read them.
Joe12 Posted April 4, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted April 4, 2018 I think it is more professional to include last name, but maybe that's just me. However, I do think that they have made a mistake in omitting the flags, as those are important for international guests to recognize that a crew member may speak their language. reallyitsmema Posted April 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Do you have a link to this tag? Are they actually new? I don't remember seeing last names or flags on name tags on any of our cruises for a long time.

GarlicBread Posted April 4, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 4, 2018 As a crew member I much prefer it, and when ever this came up all other crew I spoke to would rather just have one name on it. You don't need to know my last name. If you need to track me down onboard, my first name, department and/or country would be more than sufficient.
