What's your budget? The Capital Grille is, as always, phenomenal, and a great start to any vacation...but for a couple it can easily cost $150 + drinks for dinner.

we went to 15th st fisheries and ate outside downstairs last week. Food was amazing. 1 mile walk of 6 buck uber from the hotel.

Also suggest using the Water Taxi for incredible views of yachts/homes and who owns them; they have about 15 stops at various hotels and restaurants.

The best meal I've ever had in Florida was at Coconuts in FL. It was a few years ago now, but if the food is still as good as it was back then it's definitely worth a try.

Definitely a chain and it's fantastic. I've never had a bad thing there - steak, seafood, sides, drinks. You get what you pay for, and it's delicious.

 

 

Whenever someone says they don't like chains, I dare them to say they don't like Capital Grille!

Go to Las Olas and check out the restaurants. I agree Coconuts or Boatyard for lunch. We love Fort Lauderdale.

If you like German food and German beer, you should try Old Heidelberg. IMHO, Old Heidelberg has the best German food in Florida and it is right by the airport on State Road 84.

We ate at La Bamba which is a mexican as you might have guessed.

It is very close to the Embassy Suites, you canwalk there in 5 minutes. It is located in Harbor Shops 1901 Cordova Road

I'll be there for work on Saturday! During football season, I always hit up Duffy's next to the hotel. Other times it's usually Southport Raw Bar. I'll probably check out Boatyard this time after reading the good reviews. Lots of good choices in the area. Don't forget the free breakfast and happy hour at the hotel!

I third the recommendation for Coconuts. They're very busy so if you can, make a reservation. And if scoobies are available, get them. YUM.

All of the above are great. A few weeks ago, while staying at the Embassy Suites, I stumbled on the Quarterdeck Restaurant. It seemed more like a local place. The food and service were spectacular. I just happened to hit the night when they had a lobster dinner special for $16.95.

Love sitting outside at 15th Street Fisheries.....great way to spend an leisurely lunch watching the boats go back and forth and the bridge go up and down!
