mrsfuzzmo Posted April 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Are there really two different bowling areas on the NCL EPIC? I'm reading there's one in the Bliss Lounge AND in O'Sheehans. Is that right?
Rare G-DawgMN Posted April 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2018 No bowling alley in Bliss. It's just in O'Sheehans.
Moby0215 Posted April 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Just so you are aware it’s not really a bowling alley as one might normally imagine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mrsfuzzmo Posted April 12, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Well, that's strange because I see in the Gallery for NCL EPIC right on the NCL Site that there is a bowling alley in O'Sheehans. It's even on the deck plans. I'm guessing when I searched for Bliss Ultra Lounge, I saw photos of the Alley on the Bliss.
Rare G-DawgMN Posted April 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Other ships have a bowling alley in Bliss, the Pearl comes to mind, and I believe the Jewel does also (might be wrong on that one).
Carnac767 Posted April 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2018 I'm on Epic right now. There's only one bowling alley and it's outboard of O'Sheehan's--three lanes.
wizdiz Posted April 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Yes there are bowling ally. It's just the ball doesn't feel act like a bowling ball does. Hard to explain. I love bowling but whatever is on the ship isn't real or feel like bowling
Tiggertastic Posted April 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2018 The ship is moving so the ball doesn’t play like a ball. Just like the pool tables, it moves and they all roll to one side. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare BirdTravels Posted April 12, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Just so you are aware it’s not really a bowling alley as one might normally imagine. Incorrect. It is a "pretty normal" bowling alley. Not the game bowling alley on the -away class ships. The bowling alley in the Bliss Lounge was removed and the Bliss demo'ed and rebuilt during the last dry dock. Much nicer now.

ColinIllinois Posted April 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 12, 2018 The bowling alley in Bliss was removed during the October 2015 dry dock. Thank you. I thought I was crazy for thinking I had played the game in Bliss nightclub waaaaay back. :D
Ironworker808 Posted April 12, 2018 #14 Share Posted April 12, 2018 The reason the ball doesn’t act the same on the Epic as it would in a bowling alley is because there is no oil on the lanes! If you throw a straight ball, you should bowl as well...or as bad...as you do on land. If you throw a hook...your ball will shoot into the gutter about ⅓-½ way down the lane. OK, then why when I throw a straight ball does it go straight in the gutter? And are we still talking about aboard the ship?

Oakman58 Posted April 13, 2018 #18 Share Posted April 13, 2018 The only difference in the bowling alley on the Epic I saw was the ability to raise rails to keep the ball out of the gutter when the ship had some real movement. In the second picture you can see the rails had been raised on the two active bowling lanes.
mrsfuzzmo Posted April 17, 2018 Author #19 Share Posted April 17, 2018 The bowling alley in Bliss was removed during the October 2015 dry dock. THANK YOU! This explains the photos (all from the EPIC) that I've seen with a bowling alley in both the Bliss Lounge and next to O'sheehans.
