What does it cost to use a porter.

There is no fixed cost, tips are at your discretion. If they are just taking bags at embarkation, a minimal amount. If they are taking your bags at disembarkation, walking you through customs (maybe in a faster line), taking bags to your car, loading them, etc., then I'd give more.

I tip a couple bucks per bag.

I normally tip 10 and we normally have 4 bags

I tip two or three dollars per bag (the big heavy ones are the three dollar bags).

The last time we cruised out of San Juan I tipped the porter $20. To get us through customs. Didn’t feel it was bad,but don’t want to insult anyone.

Agree. Getting on ship $2-3 a bag, getting off with Porter getting bags and threw CBP $10 for myself and 3 bags...
