drneal Posted April 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I want to bring wine on the ship. We have 2 cabins, one for us, one for the kids. Does that mean we can bring 4 bottles? 2 bottles per cabin, or, as the kids are minors, only 2 for us? Next....can we bring our wine to the dining room or is there a corkage fee? cruiseguy1016 Posted April 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2018 You'll get answers both ways about being able to bring 4 bottles. As for the corkage fee, technically, they are supposed to charge a corkage fee when you bring bottles to the dining room. However, we brought bottles on three separate nights on Adventure last month and were never charged a corkage fee.
spookwife Posted April 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2018 each cabin that has an adult 21 or over may bring 2 bottles. the corkage fee is $25 a bottle consumed in any public venue
dplusd Posted April 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2018 If one adult is booked in each cabin you can bring on four bottles of wine. If not, technically only two bottles but you might get away with all four. Corkage fee is in place and could be charged, but many report not being charged. Royal is consistently inconsistent. You could certainly carry a glass of your own wine into the MDR with no risk of being charged a corkage fee.
YankeesFan4Life Posted April 22, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2018 I thought I read somewhere that the corkage fee is supposedly $15? Still cheaper to bring a few really nice bottles than buying onboard..IMO

Clarea Posted April 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 22, 2018 Someone posted that corkage fee is waved for diamond? Is this true I've seen nothing about waiving the corkage fee based on C&A level. However, the crewmembers do seem to be reluctant to charge the fee.
taglovestocruise Posted April 22, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 22, 2018 Two of us in one cabin. We each have a carry on and both carryon's have 2 bottles. Never been a issue.
xxHadleyxx Posted April 22, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 22, 2018 There have probably been 10+ cruises on RCI when we boarded together, each with 2 bottles in a carry on and were not questioned. There was one time when we did the same and were stopped and questioned about having 4 bottles with one last name. We had two cabins booked. Were initially told that did not matter was we had two kids with us (who WERE planning on sleeping in the same cabin as one another without an adult)---as soon as we showed that each cabin had one child and one adult booked in it they waived us on through with all of our wine. Takeaway? Odds are you'll be able to board with 4 bottles, so long as they are in seperate carry ons and each adult carries 2, but if you want to be certain of it you'll need to oficially book one adult in each stateroom.
