WashyWashyHappyHappy95 Posted April 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) WHY did they make this change? WHY WHY WHY? The old hash browns were crispy, crunchy, salty dark brown deliciousness. Like little crispy potato latkes. They were just perfect. One of the best parts of an NCL cruise. These new hash browns are like hockey pucks, more yellow than brown, and texture-wise almost more of a knish. Thick, heavy, bland. We know you read these boards NCL. Please fix this! Bring back the old hash browns! Edited April 24, 2018 by WashyWashyHappyHappy95
kirsty_r Posted April 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2018 The new ones sound more uk style. Will try them in September. You are right the skinny ones were great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare justhappy Posted April 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2018 I like the new hash browns, but that's the thing about food, it's very subjective.

willsears94 Posted April 24, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Between 2016 and March 2018, we had 2 different type of hashbrowns on different ships so it may be a ship thing.
KarimaJ Posted April 24, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Actually I was just telling my husband last week that they taste better. I think they put onion in them too. Different tastes I suppose.

Rare PTC DAWG Posted April 24, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Just off the Escape..those aren't hash browns..they are potato cakes ( I thought they were good potato cakes). Waffle House serves true hash browns. Scattered, smothered and covered. :) I still say the breakfast at Margaritaville was the best thing going in the morning...nice fresh eggs over easy...bacon...sausage...toast...hardly any kids... We went up there to sit as well, quiet and not hectic. However we would get our food at the buffet since variety wasn’t as good there. But if you want an omelette then much quicker at Margaritaville. Halifax Dude Posted April 24, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 24, 2018 If the hash browns are "one of the best parts of an NCL cruise", I suggest you skip the boat and find a local buffet.
DMH15 Posted April 24, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 24, 2018 Somehow I picture you in a room with a dart board to which you have picked several humorous topics. Next, you close your eyes and... whoosh. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Paul S Posted April 24, 2018 #23 Share Posted April 24, 2018 English potato latkes are substantial and a proper side dish to accompany the salt beef, not like the flat insubstantial US ones, and as for eating them with apple sauce or sour cream, you have very strange ideas across the pond!
