SkygirlSue Posted May 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Hello, I am booked on AmaSerena cruise starting in Vilshofen on June 1, ending in Budapest. Any information on current water levels? It's my first river cruise and I'm really looking forward to it! Any info is greatly appreciated.
Rare steamboats Posted May 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2018 We didn´t have much rain over the last 4 weeks. The last two days we had thunderstorms and heavy rain (right now). But that shouldn´t add much to the Danube river. So currently it´s more on the low side but no problems at all. Of course this can change till June 1st. steamboats
Rare lyndarra Posted May 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2018 We've just come from the Danube and today we are now in Danube canal. Water levels are high but not high enough in the river to cause any problem for cruise ships. The canal water level is constant and unaffected by rain water and melt. wismergirl Posted August 1, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Set to go out August 25th on Danube from Budapest with AmaLea ...really curious about the current water levels. Anyone have any feedback regarding this information? Our boat, Crystal Mozart, having spent 2 beautiful days at Passau, just left on July 15 to go to Bratislava & Budapest. Then we found out that over 50 river boats got stuck at Passau because of the low water level on the Danube going west. Many had to change their itineraries or stay in hotels & went by coach instead of the river. I know from friends that some of the Viking river boats had to start from land. You'd better call your ship to get an update. Use the phone number or email as seen on your cruise document and make sure they have your email to send you updates. It's changing every minute. Good Luck!
