Calling Room to Room

I'm sailing on the Grand Princess with a large family, and want to make cards prior to the trip with everyone's cabin numbers so that we can contact each other on board. Does anyone remember how the room to room calling works? Is it just the deck number followed by the room number, or is there another number first? Thanks!!

Exactly right - deck number followed by room number.

It may vary by ship, I think one ship I was on had a number in front, but my memory might be wrong, but it was spelt out pretty clearly on the phone or in the cabin black book.

Only the Pacific Princess has all-numerical cabin numbers.

 

All of the other ships have a deck letter instead of the deck number even though the elevator and phone system use the deck number rather than the letter. For instance, C310 would be 10310 on the phone and deck 10 in the elevator.

Yeah i was thinking it may have been on Pacific that there was some other arrangement.
