Did anyone else catch the first episode of AGT? A group of guys ripped off the show royal used to do where cruise staff pretend to be fountains and spit water on each other. I think it was done after the love and marriage show.

I thought the same thing as you did! NCL also does that routine at the crew talent show. It was funny the first time I saw it, but then not so funny.

I have seen it on NCL a couple of times. Like pizzalady1 said the cruise director staff always did it as the last act of the crew talent show.

I, also, thought of RCI immediately. I can't remember which ship it was that I saw "fountains" for the first time.

 

I did think their blowing water into another person's mouth was gross.

40% of those initial acts are not talent. People go on to do sillly things to get on TV and AGT broadcast it because it's entertaining. After a round or two, they weed them out and you are left with the true talented acts. It certainly made my kids and I laugh pretty hard (but didn't know that it was originally performed on a Royal others)

Not really sure "ripped off" who as NCL did that act over 15 years ago. Of course its silly. I believe in embracing silly, so important. Not all entertainment must be as intellectually stimulating as say, a belly flop contest.

He was the first CD I ever saw do it. Still can't remember which ship though.

I thought I remembered it being Graham Seymour......but I could be wrong :confused: I do know that I saw it, one time only on RCI and it really funny! I also watched it on AGT, but didn't think it was that great.

AFAIK, it was always Mike's "thing".

 

After six years away from cruise-directing, he is back!

I saw the same act on a carnival ship 10 years ago. So apparently its a cheap act that get laughs from time to time.
