4 to a Room NCL GEM (Family Balcony)

Hi

 

we are doing 4 to a room - 2 adults - 18 & 15 yr old. on the NCL GEM Boston to Bermuda. Queen, sofa and pull down bed.

 

has anyone done this?

You are going to be packed in like sardines. The cabins are not that big, and while they sleep four, you need to plan on having the kids out of the room while you dress, and vice versa.

It’s tight but do able. We did 7 in 2 connecting balconies, kids ranged from 14 - 20. We staggered showering/getting ready (DH and I were first, we just hung on the balcony after getting ready for dinner) and we’d be asleep by the time they all got back to the cabin at night. We weren’t in the cabins a lot during the day.

We did a 10 day w two teens last year in a balcony on the Gem. It’s doable.

 

Just be organized and you will be fine

 

Plenty of storage space (everyone had a cubby).

Obviously you will get different opinions on this. My two cents worth: Doable, but not enjoyable.

love reading the Gem's review - I wrote down a lot of tips and definitely going to try O'Sheehan's. we are in a family Balcony on the 9th floor so I hope it's just a little bit roomier. But otherwise it looks manageable.

You'll be fine, albeit a bit tight. Cabins are smaller than Carnival's.

If you can swing 2 - do it. I am pretty easy but I, enjoy 2 connecting cabins so much more. It is way too tight.
