Help please, we cruise next week and i cannot find any info on what clothes to pack? Are there still formal nights? I’ve heard so many say that a collared shirt and long trousers are now accepted as formal, is this true?

They are now just called Gala nights, and yes, the minimum for men is a collared shirt and long pants ... same as any other night. :)

You should have received a document titled Know Before You Go. It includes the following information regarding dress:

CLOTHING

Most evenings smart casual attire is appropriate. Shorts, pool/beachwear, distressed jeans and men’s tank tops are best left to the daytime and are not permitted in fine dining restaurants.

Gala Nights evoke the grand traditions of cruising as guests dress to impress for special events on board, including a five-course gourmet dinner in the Dining Room. For gentlemen, collared shirt and slacks are required in all fine dining restaurants . For ladies, dressy attire is appropriate, dresses skirts and slacks are all acceptable.

There’s a pamphlet called “Know Before You Go” on the HAL website. It contains a lot of useful information and specifics on clothing are on page 8.

Missing your cup of morning coffee? See posts 3 and 6. :halo:

And...make sure that things are not too snug at home. Won't work in a week or so.

Jim

Ha, ha. I took a somewhat "snug" dress this last time that I intentionally wore the very first night, knowing that it would most likely not work any time thereafter. Loved it the first night - why bother using a scale when one's own clothes don't lie.
