balcony on regal princess

We sailed on the Carribbean Princess a few years ago and enjoyed the larger balcony on the caribe deck. I am looking at an upcoming cruise on the Regal Princess and am asking the board if the Regal has any decks with larger balconies.

Nope. In fact, the standard balcony on the Regal is narrower than the standard balcony on the Caribbean. They are about 4 feet deep, hardly enough room to sit in the chair looking straight out unless you sit upright. The width is the same as the room, about 9 ft.

 

There are a few larger balconies scattered around the ship if you check the deck plans closely, but there is no entire deck with bigger balconies.

The biggest balconies are mid-ship where it bumps out for the sea walk, only on 2 or 3 decks.

We snagged one for 2019 for only $99 more than an inside! Three for free sale all cabins in a category were the same price and unusually low price obst. balcony (that lasted for only a couple of days).

The balconies with cabins E-102 thru E-110 are listed as obstructed, here's the catch with them, they have metal instead of plexi-glass and the balconies are 2-3x's the regular balconies. We've sailed 3 TA's on Regal and 1 on Royal all in one of these cabins and they're cheaper.

Aft facing balconies are almost all larger than standard. The balconies mid-ship at the bump outs are larger, some very large angled balconies - all decks under the Seawalk or Seaview Bar. Forward facing balconies are larger, but "obstructed view" due to metal railing . Emerald Deck has some larger balconies, some obstructed view some completely unobstructed. E101-110 are quite large but metal railing, etc.

"Standard" balconies are incredibly small on this class of ship.

There not to bad for room but the location is much to far forward for us.

It seems that no matter where you walk to it's a real hike.

After a few days of walking back & forth it gets old real quick.

There are some huge balconies on M6 club class on the front of the ship on M and L decks. They have metal lower railings but can hold 20-30 people for a sail away party. They are not locked when at sea (as description implies) but can be rather windy.

Darn, it was so nice having the larger balcony on the Caribe deck on the Caribbean princess. Im disappointed that the Regal doesnt have them. It still looks like a beautiful ship

Balconies are definitely small on the Royal and Regal. A bit tight if trying to eat breakfast out there, which we sometimes like to do. However, there's room for me to read, watch the sea go by, have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. There are so many other good things about the ships we don't let this bother us.
